linked one ton escalade (coming back soon)

Yeah, i get what you are saying. So just get a "Y" fitting to tie them together, close the one you aren't using. If the "in use" pump craps out, then close that line and open the other, flip your pump power switch, and keep on truckin'.

Would be quite handy for events if they are timed...

Much faster then a pump swap.

You would have to occasionally switch back and forth so that the "backup" pump doesn't get stuck.

So... the shop next door has this crew cab 2wd with a 92 Cummins in it. The auto trans is completely toast. But the truck is very very clean. A/C, heat, electric windows and locks. It is already intercooled, so would just need a p-pump and a compound setup to be fun:D. I am most likely doing some trading and getting it.

3 options for a trans.

1. have this one rebuilt or find another to stick in there

2. nv4500/nv5600 swap it

3. pull an allison 1000 with a stand-alone controller out of one of the breadvans and put in it. These are already behind an ISB 3.9 Cummins so maybe will bolt up? Otherwise an adapter kit is $1000.

the simplicity of a manual would be awesome. But the allison would be really nice too...

Allison if your doing burnouts.... 4500 if tow rig.

My allison is so slow shifting. I say nv4500/5600. I tried to get my duramax with a manual, but dealer informed me it stopped in 06/07... manual for sure unless serious crawling is in the plans.

Also I would say you could just pop in a Denny T fuel pin and drive it for a while without having to do the pump/twins. It’s not the same but the 91.5+ trucks aren’t too slouchy for what they are.

For the power levels you want/need for towing the VE pump will be fine . The nice thing about about them is they have dynamic timing vs the P-pumps static Timing which really helps with mileage and cold starts

A fuel pin , gov spring kit , timing spacer plate , shove the pump to the head , and a good set of sticks and you will definitely have enough fuel for a good set of towing twins.

My '90 I used to have was set up perfect. Great single turbo 32 psi boost and no issues at all with egts. Everything was tuned and matched perfectly. No overheating or anything. Could tow whatever you wanted up the mtns all day long.

Quickest thing would probably be to just fix the trans in it and sell it...
Since I live in a camper and am supposed to be saving money for a house buying a 9th vehicle probably isn’t the smartest thing.
So I’ll start looking for an nv4500 for it

If/when I get it maybe I’ll hit you up for what exactly to do, I’ve always heard the VE is better for mileage anyway

That thing is almost a twin to my trucks interior, I have a nv4500. I really enjoy it. I dont daily it and I dont tow much with it but since its not a daily its fun to row the gear.s

Would be more fun and last longer with the 4500. Plus it’s just cooler. Lol. Hope you can make the trade work. It’s nice to have a vehicle you could tow a house with if need be.

Got the bucket truck sold, now I get paid to use it. Also got another toy to hopefully start making some cool parts with. :woot:

Fiancé graduates nursing school in a couple days, I got a new job, maybe this will be the year the Escalade finally gets worked on for real??
