Yeah, i get what you are saying. So just get a "Y" fitting to tie them together, close the one you aren't using. If the "in use" pump craps out, then close that line and open the other, flip your pump power switch, and keep on truckin'.
Would be quite handy for events if they are timed...
Much faster then a pump swap.
You would have to occasionally switch back and forth so that the "backup" pump doesn't get stuck.
