Lost and Found - LS3 6L80 NP205 Full Frame Off

Does that transfer case have a Low range? I thought those were all wheel drive with no Low range???

Martin

It is only high range all time 4 wheel drive. That is why I am removing it and replacing it with an N P 205. And it's much harder to do burnouts with an all wheel drive transfer case.

I took the transfer case off the transmission tonight to start measurements for the NP205 and noticed that on the 6L80E there is one bolt section that is further apart than the other 5 sections. You can see it in the image below. I was curious if anyone has the measurements of a 6 bolt NP205 or even better the adapter from a TH400 or 4L80E or even a 6L80e? I am just trying to determine if the offset width is common on GM output patterns?

Thanks guys.

 So Ummmm.... UPS guy dropped something by the house, it looks like an NP205 twin stick with 1350 flanges but i'm still looking into it...

Finished cleaning up the motor today, all I have left to do is the throttle body and I think i'm going to sand blast the housing because it's filthy.

Before I put it in the blazer I will sand blast all the bracket and rails then put them on once it's sitting on the frame.

Just some normal simple green, plastic bristle brush to break down the tough stuff and some blue shop towels.

Only use simple green the other degreasers don't play nice with aluminum.

Wow looks like a sweet build so far SUBSCRIBED. I did the same thing with my mustang a few years ago. Sold it and then I saw it back on craigslist like 8 months ago and now it is in the driveway looking just how it did when it left me:D

Looks really nice! I havent ever seen this setup before, Does it allow use of a ford rear driveline?

The way its sitting in the picture is wrong it actually uses the factory gm drop and drive line. Based on what I've found it should bolt to the factory cross member etc.

I am doing the same set up on my blazer but I used an altlas 4 sp for the transfer case. Atlas had to make an adapter beacuse the clocking of the 6l80e adapter is diferent than the one on the 4L80e. Give them a call and ask them if you can use the adapter they make. Here is a link to pictures of the atlas adapter over on pirate4x4. You are going to love this set up. I just got to drive my blazer last weekend.

So I called everywhere I could think of including Advance Adapters and no one had or was willing to create an adapter for a 6L80E to an old school race track pattern NP205.

If no one makes it and no one is willing to create it the only other option is to learn CAD Design :-)

So I learned how to use the CAD software and build the adapter I needed last night. I'll be taking it to my machine shop today to get it done in Steel.

The adapter is a 2 piece design that allows a rigid mount on the transmission side then a clockable ring on the t-case side. When it is installed I will have the ability to mount the transmission to the cross member like stock but then clock my T-Case in 15 degree increments so I can have a nice flat under belly. It will also allow for a full 1 5/8" of engagement into the t-case.

Here are some pics of the design.

I did a quick test fit on the Holley passenger side A/C bracket along with my new Sanden compressor. It looks factory, like it should belong from the factory (just cleaner). After I blast all the aluminum accessories it should look great.

Tonight I start work on the Cam swap. I've never done one so it should be fun.

Damn dude! You are nailing it! Its always fun to see such an ambitious (and budget-less) build like this!
