LSX454 swapped 95 BASS burb.

Little lower, little cooler, bigger sounds.
I was working on it with 80 grit last night and it seemed to be going decent enough.
It's all going to be done with the Palm sander.

I may even try and pick up something more aggressive quick.

My biggest problem that I've found is leaning over the platform and holding my head up isn't going well with my neck the way it is.

My last coat painting the glove box yesterday something flew into it, I’ll have to sand and blend it in.

Just put on a helmet with a hans device, that will hold your head up for you! :haha:

I actually had a neck brace thing on doing it today.
Then said fug the platform and backed it out.
I was able to do it off a ladder easy enough. :thumb:

I bought some primer sealer. I have it all sanded down for the most part. Just into the clear.
I'm going to spray sealer on all of the ex green areas, because I found that even the top half of the doors were cracked.
Seen that when it was put in the sun.

So sealer tomorrow. Wait the allotted time it says, and 400 the whole thing over the weekend....
Shooting for Monday, or take vacation and do it Tuesday to paint it.

Close up of the center of the roof, after 80 grit on the palm sander.IMG_20260528_122219329_MP~2.jpg

Next year, I'm going to take out all the rivnut deals from the old roof rack.
So I plan on repainting the roof anyway.
I'm thinking when I do so I'll find a gel paint stripper and take it down to steel. :dunno:
Or I'll wait and see if it chips, and just do it then most likely lol.

The stuff I seen on the doors COULD be sanding scratches. But they seem too random.
And they're visible, but you can't feel them.

If I have to repaint in 5-6 years I'll be fine with it, and will have learned some lessons.
As long as I don't have much rust stuff to do then lol.

That’s like me and the wrap if I get 5 years out of it I won’t care. It’s in the garage most of the time anyway.

You don’t plan on driving it in the winter again do ya?

Nope. It doesn't even do a lot of rain.
Because then it DOES like to spin and it's nearly un drivable lol.

So... I didn't accomplish chit yesterday.,
Because I found these all over the front of the roof.
And I remember seeing similar spots on the top farther back. :doah: :notworthy:

Before....., can you see em?
Check land marks with the next picIMG_20260529_140324233_MP.jpgIMG_20260529_140343407_MP.jpg

I found half a dozen in an 18x6 strip . Haven't even checked the rest.
Said fug it and drank a couple beers, before getting ready for work lol.

I'm buying a surface conditioner Saturday.
And I might even do the chemical stripper in the center areas.
It Just set me back a few days though.
Half tempted to leave it down for another month and just remove the old rivnut deals now too.
Then I don't have to figure with it next winter.

Winter will be busy with my wife's car anyway.

I bought a surface conditioner the other day.

Of course, it went on member only sale the next day. :angry1:
But, I haven't tried it yet.
Once I found the rust spots under the roof paint I got deflated, decided power tours out, and got the grandkids for a few days.
I'm going to do large center areas with a chemical stripper. Keeping away from the edges that way.
I really don't want it getting in any weather strip or body gap cracks.
So the surface conditioner and hand block will do all the edge work about 6" in.

I shaved the third brake light, and I'm in the process of the body work on those holes.
It's not going too bad, so I'm going to start doing the roof rack holes while I'm at it.

The roof is one part that has many compound angles and curves, and they don't make replacements for it.
So I'm going to do everything I can now, to prevent holes from forming in it.

Hard to see, but I think it looks sleeker with the third brake light shaved. And there wasn't any wiresIMG_20260527_180726278_MP.jpgIMG_20260527_180713233_HDR.jpg to it anymore anyway. :dunno:

Plus it not working was already used as a reason to pull me over and Jack with me. So if it doesn't have one, they lose that reason lol.

You know you have 30 days to return it and get the discount.
If you buy something and it goes on sale within 30 days, they will reimburse you.
Unless their rules changed
