LSX454 swapped 95 BASS burb.

Little lower, little cooler, bigger sounds.
The diagrams that I did have have different colors than the truck actually has. So I just started hand over handing it like we do at work lol.

When you have a plug that's 80% right color wise and then there's a handful that aren't right, it starts making you wonder, ,,, did they just change color, or are they doing different things. :dunno:

That was the engine one though. I didn't find any diagrams for the non egr version.

The chassis diagram may be different. I have it, but haven't started into it yet.

Actually what I had wasn't it either :doah:

Having trouble finding that diagram too.
So far it looks like the light green going to the rear may be the reverse lights.
Lift pump wiring isn't being used, so will come out. Just gotta find the actual fuel sender one now. Good thing I'm on light duty at work... Plenty of time lol

I found this. But my plug at the tank has neither of those colors. :dunno:

At least that one shows the sender being purple, and the other end grounded like I thought. Kind of odd that they brought the ground all the way back up to the engine...? Gm did some weird sh1t.

Thanks

I don't mind using the frame rail, because I always directly ground both of them. I don't use anything riveted to the frame like brackets or crossmembers though.

And even so, no where does the engine harness ground directly to the battery. So either way it's grounded to a crusty frame or crusty body generally.

Wait...your engine block isn't directly grounded to the battery? :screwy:

Yes it is. But how is it different from bolted to a frame? Plus this one grounded back up in the dash somewhere, not to the engine.

Actually very few engines are directly tied to the battery. It's always the accessory brackets or something.
I tie the battery to the frame, frame to the block, and in this case other battery to other frame rail, and that rail up to the bracket right under the alt.
Body is grounded well in a few places too.

Not sure I have faith in this thing though

They sent that fitting with it. The filter came with that one for that end, and 2 female ones for the other side. I'm currently debating saying Fk it and running a normal regulator and filter.
First I'm going to go ahead and order another of this style, but a Delco one. I'll see if it's any different.
It's actually kind of a PITA to hook up the AN fittings on the input side. Which is why I'm contemplating a totally different setup. I don't want to have to fork with it every time I change filters.

On another note, I decided to clean my tank up and paint it. Knowing that the tank looked pretty sketchy as was.
And yep. There's a hole. :doah:
So spectra premium it is I guess lol.
I kinda knew that was the most likely outcome anyway.

not to call guys out and be rude but everyone plays with this AN stuff and all the time and hassle and bull crap for a mostly stock ride . i have the dorman fuel line repair kit with ends and bulk line . i made my lines in less time / less b/s and there stock style and feed my setup and millions of other factory setups making more power than ours do .

just a observation is all sorry to rant .

I have the same opinion

If you noticed my other lines, the hard ones, they are just off the shelf brake/fuel lines from orilleys.
The only reason there are AN lines on anything is because of that filter everyone said to use.
I could not find fittings that went from inverted flare, to the push-on style or I would have went that route.
The next step was AN Because those are cheap and plentiful.
The AN kit I bought was $40 and it gave me all the fittings I would need, and just enough line to do the filter-fuel rail, plus both return and supply from the hard lines to the tank.

I have no special AN tools, and I can build a fuel line with both ends by hand in about 5 minutes including all measurements.
It's not that expensive or hard.
This is actually my first time using it.
I have yet to see how it actually does over time.
The only other AN is my oil filter lines. And once again, the oil pan I have has AN fittings welded on. So I had to use them there too.
Found a kit with everything I'll need on Amazon and went with it.
I personally am still sceptical. Beags and me texted rounds back and forth about the AN stuff lol.
He likes it, I never used it, and I tried real hard not to.
Is what it is and I'll see for myself I guess.
As stated, it was pretty frickin easy after the first one. So that's one point for it.
Now I'll see if they last or leak.
