Well..... Chit
Built this so far as a DD and occasional burnout machine.
Not sure really how to tune yet. Have about 1000 miles on it already.
Decided it's running good and had some miles, I'll try a burnout.
Either I have the best damn tires around, or this fuggers a pooch.
I couldn't do a burnout power braking on wet pavement.
Tried a few different ways dry, wet, Power brake, no power brake,. Doesn't matter.
Won't spin a tire.
Gravel it does alright. Pavement, not a chance.
Any old bone stock 5.3 I've ever driven can eak out a burnout one way or another. This is a 6.0 bored out with a small but still over stock cam and more compression.
I'm kind of disheartened.
Kick it in passing gear at 45 and it's a whole different beast. Even though the trans limits the rpms available with the current shift points. It still pulls hard as hell up to the 4500 or so max it'll reach.
I tried the brake on stall speed check Wich if I'm reading that correctly is only about 1500. ...? I'm pretty sure I used the converter that came with the lq4. Which I thought was like 2000-2200 stock. So maybe I just need more converter. I dunno.
I'll be more concerned after I get it tuned and stuff I guess.
Right now it has 3.73s, and 31.6" tall tires, which isn't helping.
Also has a locked in lock up g80.
Eventually here it gets 4.?? Gears, a true trac, and 30.5" tires. Which will help a bunch.
Once I get those things all done it goes to a chassis Dyno for professional tuning.
With any luck it'll do real burnouts then lol.
