Dex 6 is fine to run, it may smooth the shifts a tad, but it will be minor.
Are you running Dex 3 or Type F?

That's pretty normal. Converter holds a couple of quarts, the inner passages holds some, cooler and lines, etc.On a separate note, I dropped the pan and only got 5 qts out.
It took 13 to fill it....
I figured I'd have gotten at least 8 out![]()
Yeah. He was better by the time I left. Still not cool. But the gasket thing makes me question the whole rebuild. If its only one time out of 20 you might of just caught him in a bad mood, who knows. Although not replacing the pan gasket on a rebuild is quite lacking. Makes you wonder what else didn't get replaced.
I'd switch to Dex 6 and enjoy it. I wouldn't expect a big change, but you might notice a minor change in shifting.
I don't know what you paid, so hard to pass judgement. An auto has several hundred parts and nobody cares about your stuff like you do. I'm not a real trans guy, but I've rebuilt several, sometimes inventing stuff along the way. People hear this and say, "oh can you fix mine", as though they've completely missed the situation. Nobody would be willing to pay me a fair hourly wage for the time it takes me to do this stuff. Just like drywall. Yeah, it looks flat, but no-one in their right mind would hire me to do the same for them at any decent wage.So... I may officially be done with my transmission dude.
Kinda not thrilled with him.
