LSX454 swapped 95 BASS burb.

Little lower, little cooler, bigger sounds.
Always loved kappas. For the price they sound amazing.
The best system I've ever done. Really even heard for that matter. Was one I did that inspired this one.
It was in a 90 Lincoln Town car.
Had 2 way Kappa 6.5"s in the front doors, and 2way kappa 6x9s in the back deck. Just running off the Kenwood deck without an amp.
And an Audiobahn (before they went cheap n stupid) 1500watt amp running 2 mid line Audiobahn 15"s.
The amp was way under rated, and even just on the deck the kappas kept up with the subs.

Every single person that heard it was impressed with the clarity and overall sound.

And that's the system that panicked my buddy and had him clawing out an open back door at 60. Lol

This system was built to smash that one to bits in every category, but still to somewhat copy it for nostalgia lol.

I already ran these kappas by them selves for quite a while and they sound NICE!
I can't wait for the whole system.

That sounds similar to what I ran in my first truck. 6.5” kappas with infinity amps and 2 audiobahn 500rms 12’s powered by an audiobahn 1500w single channel bridged to 2 ohm. This was in an 01 dodge 2500 extended cab with straight pipe stacks. I could drown the exhaust out with ease and the clarity was awesome.

Not really an update.
Just random small things lately. Like mounting the bass knobs.

Got a huge step farther in just a few hrs today.
All wiring is ran where it needs to be, and semi mocked into position.
Amp rack is in position, and ready to be bolted down.
When it's bolted down finally, I can have the subs in and bolted down too.
After all wiring is done I'll put the amp rack back in, and then move on to speaker pods for the 7" mid bass.

I set a plan, and sealed it in with the wife. She agreed and approved lol.
I'm going to leave this as is and just play with it till mid 2027.

Except body work and paint. Those I'll work on.

I'm going to get our Oldsmobile rebuilt and running reliably.
And finish the kitchen and furnace in our house.

Early 2027 my 401k loan will be paid off.
At that point I'm going to see how I can get a 20k loan... And if I have to, I'll get another 401 loan.
Either way, it's getting a fully forged and balanced 415 stroker kit and a Magnuson 2650 twin screw on top of it then.

Already put a CL add out to sell my spare BB, and 4L80e 's.
That money will pay for some of the Cutlass rebuild, and force me to stop him/hawing about which engine to build. Lol.

Now I just have to live to 2027 to see it through lol.
It'll be my 50th B-day present to myself. :waytogo:

Front power routing is done.
IMG_20250113_172625427~2.jpg

Distribution block is fed by a 1/0 from the battery on the passenger side (used to have a 4awg for the fuse box only), the breakers are for the alternators, fuses for the highs/mids amps.
The capacitor sitting in the other battery location will boost the engine electrical, along with the amps.

Should be final ride height with the system.
All the system components and batteries are in.

I'll drive it like this a while, and see how it settles out.
Then probably swap the front springs for the stiffer ones I have and set the final height up front about the same fender to tire gap as the rear.

Just fuggin loud and clean. The loud is a by product really.
I want enough stereo that it'll be comfortable and happy playing clean&clear at my top listening level. From Creedence Clearwater all the way through Slipknot or Eminem.
90% of the time it'll be clean as F**k and low level.
8% or so will be beating pretty hard but all about the clean music still.
The last 2% of the time will be out in a field driveway as far away from houses as I can get, seat leaned back, ear plugs in, Bass PUMPING, for the full body massage it gives you. :waytogo:

In fact, if my 7" that I gotta install yet sound as good as I hope, the sub amp will be basically off for the first 90% of that spectrum.

Originally it was supposed to be the 2 amps. Mid bass stuff was thought of later. So two 4 awg were run. One for the alt to charge the rear batteries, one for the 4 channel amp.
Then as things progressed I realized 4awg wasn't enough for the alt lead, and I was adding an amp, so I just left the current 4awgs and added a 1/0 alt lead.

The sub amp is basically an island electrically.
It can pull up to like 800 amps during hard dips, and I don't want that robbing power from the other amps and deluding them.

From the alt back, there is nothing that ties the positive sides together. Except the 5v signal coming from the head unit through my RCAs.
Even the remote turn on is done through a relay.
The PWM signal to the sub alt is also powered from the rear batteries. Not that that particular one matters probably, but it was easy to do so I did it lol.
That'll be set at 14.8v

Sub amp has its own large AGM batteries, and 500 farad capacitor.

Super cap, and the start of a switch mount/cap tie down.

I'm actually farther along on the tie down, and have the battery tie downs 99% done too. Just didn't get pics.
Very soon I'll be powering stuff up, and starting the gain adjustment process.
After that it's time to commit to cutting my door panels up for the 7"s .
