LSX454 swapped 95 BASS burb.

Little lower, little cooler, bigger sounds.
I went with RE audio. It's their XX15d4.
I did one of their SEX series 15s in my burnt burb for a little while on 500w and it impressed me a lot. Then I sold it to my buddy and he put it in his minivan on 1000w. That sounded AWESOME.
While looking around I found I couldn't do my Orion XTR PRO's that I wanted to (discontinued), so I started exploring and found an awesome deal on these.
These are 3 or 4 lines above the sex series. And I'll have a lot more power than I had..... Should beat hard.

I got an xtr 4 channel and 2 xtr 6½" component sets for my mids and highs.

My dually is also getting some love. I got a 2500w xtr amp for it and 2 Alpine type R slim mount 10"s.

And the top of that RE.

Eventually here, if I can get some OT at work, I plan on adding 4 XTR 8" midbass and a 4 channel for them to the burb.

Here's the components.

I can't wait lol. I did a separate system In my dually for the ell of it. Just got it done. Pic is during install.

I had to take the small rear passenger side sets out and make a tool to pry the door panel off from inside... So I could fix the door and get it open.

Since I had the panel off I figured I'll just start there on the stereo install. I'll do that whole door, then just move to the next. Work on subs when they're all done.

I plan on dying that material inset around the door handle black. I've never used that interior spray dye before though. If it don't look good I'll just replace it with vinyl or something.

Started on tear-out last night. Got quite a ways, but still have a lot to go.

I just couldn't do it... I wanted Infinitys when I started this, so I bought F***in Infinitys lol.

I'll just use the XTR components in my dually.

I put everything on hold while I was doing shop work and waiting on these.

Now it's time to get back on this.

Starting my burb stereo this week too. Just ordered the 1/0, abs for amp rack, and fuse holders. Looks like you’ll get done before me. Still have to build consoles. I did order the cup holders and USB ports for them, though. I haven’t made a decision in which head unit. Planning on a double din in the console, but have to work out the TC shifter first.

Do they really cost that much more?
I paid $140 for both sets of the XTRs... These I paid $200 a set.
At crutchfield these kappas are still $350 a set.

I don't know if I'll finish first lol.. I have a LOT to do yet.

It always surprises me how much time it takes to do a full stereo install. At least on the 2 trucks I've had that didn't have anything to begin with.

Taking 90 percent of the interior out and putting it all back in afterwards is pretty much what takes the time up. And I'm only really doing that to sound deaden most all surfaces.

Bonus will be being able to redo the sagging headliner while it's out.

I did a fairly quick install in my dually. And it's not bad. But I didn't go through adding sound deadener and all that.

Did you add sound deadener in rumble bee?

Never really did anything to the bee except tires and drive it lol.

Well, my burb is starting to give me issues... Damnit.

Occasionally while steady cruising on the highway it'll stumble, turn on the check engine light, and I'll be in what I consider reduced power mode.

I can keep driving, and hold 60mph. But I have to push the pedal down a little farther to do so, and there's no real acceleration.

I have no idea where to start as far as looking for the problem:dunno:

Seems like my comment in the other thread is even more relevant now...
