LSX454 swapped 95 BASS burb.

Little lower, little cooler, bigger sounds.
Yep lol. This issue is why the LS idea came about.

I was going to sell my spare tons, and possibly the Terra grapplers that I bought for shorty to rebuild that 454 for the dually.
But maybe that money will go to this. :dunno:

You have a spare 60?
No good has ever come from selling a spare 60.

That's the only reason it's not on sale yet lol. But selling the spare axles and that new set of tires is the only way I can think of to come up with rebuild money.

Buy a shitbox commuter car. Dump the burb and focus on the dually and the mud truck.

Crewcabs don't accept 15's very well lol. I forking hate driving a tiny crap car. Unless it's got mucho ponies... Then they aren't so bad.

I almost bought a 08 Colorado crew cab for 1700 bucks off the side of the road on a whim this weekend.
I was going to go to the ATM and then I thought. Wait, you don't need it just because it's a good deal....
Point being you don't need to drive a crappy shitbox to have a basic commuter car...

If I had a deeper pocket this would get a 454 about equal to Shorty's or better.

Then the dually would get a 6.2LS/6L80E combo, and be my DD. This one would then become the baby'd weekend cruiser.

But I'm not rich enough for that

Do whatever you got to do.
I am parts Horder so I wouldn't sell that 60. You might need that for this burb someday.

Only reason I haven't put em up for sale is I was waiting to see if I broke the one I'm using... But I find that very unlikely with the type of offroading I have available to me.

Well, my burb is starting to give me issues... Damnit.

Occasionally while steady cruising on the highway it'll stumble, turn on the check engine light, and I'll be in what I consider reduced power mode.

I can keep driving, and hold 60mph. But I have to push the pedal down a little farther to do so, and there's no real acceleration.

I have no idea where to start as far as looking for the problem:dunno:
That explains the fuel mileage.
I am not familiar with the electronic ip on the 6.5 but I suspect that is where you need to look.
Unless you have a plugged fuel filter, that could explain the sluggish feeling but not the fuel consumption.

Normally it accelerates fine, runs great, etc. But 4 times now while cruising down a flat road with cruise control on, it's like hiccuped/stumbled, and then does the reduced power thing. I read that if the lift pump goes out it can do that, and someone mentioned the pmd doing it.

Both the lift pump and IP are supposedly new within the last 100k. But maybe getting old by now:dunno:

It has a plug like an OBDII would but it's the wrong shape.

I'm thinking the OP wired the lift pump wrong also. It runs for a while till it gets to pressure after I shut the truck off and get out. And doesn't kick on when I turn the key on like I've read that it should.

I may have fixed it. Not sure.
All I did was replace the pre filter on the frame.
Is hasn't happened since. Including a 90 mile (one way) trip with the cruise set at 76 mph. I didn't think to cut the filter open.
I don't know if it's just coincidence or not..? But its doing ok so far.

As for a stereo update, I got the rest of the interior I'm pulling this round out. I got the old chitty factory sound deadening material (most was laying on the top of the headliner) pulled out. Now I'm ready to start putting the good stuff in.

My mom's jeep is almost ready to roll out of the shop, and when it does this will get an intense round of love. Need beats bad lol. The slimline 10"s in the dually are fine, but not enough. I want BASS!

The first time I had that problem I changed the filter and the filter was full of water.

I still want to change the actual filter. The factory one at the intake. I get a feeling that the PO never touched it after the frame mount one was in.

The first one catches most of the debris and all the water until it gets saturated so if you had problems the second one also is getting plugged up.
I changed all

When I bought it he gave me a whole box of the aftermarket ones. So I just did that quick to see what happened. It didn't look bad looking down in. But that wouldn't show much anyway :dunno:.

I have the wix factory filter I'm my Amazon cart. Just gotta actually buy it.

Finally had an opening to work towards the stereo in this. Got some rust on the rear floor cleaned up, and started on the sound deadening.

I'm going to remove the rear air/heat system. Just less rattles and it'll never have a 3rd row anyway. Once that's out of the way the rear half will get the bulk of my deadening material. Whatever is left will fill out pillars and the roof.

I've already set aside what I need for the last 3 doors.

Finally rolling back around to this thing.

Got the rear doors done, starting on fronts now.

Kind of color changing a few things here and there. More to come on that in the future, but every little bit adds up lol.
