LSX454 swapped 95 BASS burb.

Little lower, little cooler, bigger sounds.
Well.... Birthday burnouts didn't happen for this burb.....

But, I have another one lol.

Unfortunately being in the shop, due to not being licensed yet, I couldn't really get on it much. Oh well... Still a burnout.

I got the H pipe built and ran out of wire :doah:
I'll get it welded up, fit in place and finished here soon. It fits good, but is a pain to get in place lol.

It's getting down to the wire now

I have a couple obstacles yet, like intake routing and upper radiator hose, but that's minor.

The next week is going to go a long ways on this thing :waytogo:

Hoping for first start next weekend

I had to take a header off for some adjustments.
In mock up when I had 2 bolts in and snug, this area had about 1/4"-3/8".
After gasket and torque it hits this mount in the red area.
So I'm going to slice up the middle of the overlap with the grinder, heat it, and bend the center in.
Then stitch weld the gap.

The air intake tube is 4" exhaust tube that I pie cut and welded. The upper radiator hose I pieced together out of the hoses I had left after the swap and a piece of scrap stainless steel tube I had around.

I modified my oil cooler bracket last night, and figured out how to get it mounted.
I need to make a couple more pieces for that.
Exhaust should be done today. Hopefully.... I need to make hanger brackets and re install it all now.
Since I had to remove the one header, I took out my homemade offsets so I could clean and flameproof paint them. Did the same on the crossover pipe.

all in all it's getting down to the wire.

Thank you :waytogo:
And No, it's a product that was made by a company called 'Heath'.
They made/make a bunch of hop ups for the diesel gmt400 trucks.
This truck had most all of their catalog on it when I got it lol.
That's the only piece left

Yeah it's a pretty simple design.
Gotta watch the hood hinge area. It hits the back of the box when down, so I bent the back in on that corner to clear.

Made the clearances for the header.
Exhaust to the temporary mufflers is done.
Most all of the stuff under the hood is ready. I have to fill all fluids, and hook up 2 wires is all. (Alt is off to make bleeding the power steering easier.)

Have to mount the starter yet.
Get the correct drive shaft U bolts. (The ones orilleys says it is don't work.)
Change the trans filter/gasket.
And put the tank in.
Then it's go time!!! :eek1: :woot: :waytogo:

Oil cooler mounted too. But Amazon didn't deliver the hose and fittings they say they did.
Can't have been porch pirates because there were 3 other boxes and they were all there lol.
So I can't hook that up yet.

Not super happy with some of the hose routing on the drivers side either. But that can be fixed at a later date.

But this has come up...... :frown

Well, rock Auto forked me.
So orilleys to the rescue.

I ordered the vents needed for this fuel tank at 4:30 am Thursday.
Had. A shipping option of Monday for free, or Friday for $15.
Paid the $15. And they didn't even ship it until 4 pm yesterday. Says expected Monday. :angry1:
So when I get them I'm returning them.
Didn't pay $15 to receive them the same day I could have free.

Rock auto is NOT for fast shipping .

There just the middle man from 1,000's of parts stores to get rid of old / over stock . So when you order it has to go threw a few hands to get out the door .

They've done me well so far. Most things I just do the minimum or free shipping, and a few days later they're here.

This time I actually selected and paid for next day shipping, and didn't get the parts yet.
Won't do the next day chit again for sure.

Hoping to have it running by tomorrow. So waiting till Monday for the vents so I can put the tank in doesn't work.
Rock Auto had the GM ones for cheaper than the dormans at orilleys. Which is the only reason I went that way.
The extra for shipping made it even, but with GM in stead of dorman.

Brand new spectra premium all cleaned up, undercoated, and ready to go in.

Going to go grab the 1/4" line and T that I forgot. Lol.
Then it's going in.
