LSX454 swapped 95 BASS burb.

Little lower, little cooler, bigger sounds.
My shift points will be 6300-6500 eventually.
But I've seen that when it starts to shift to where it actually shifts takes enough time that it'll rev 300-400 over the actual shift points. So shifting there keeps me just under what I consider redline.

GM used to promote this as a 7100 rpm redline. Now it says 6500 on most sites. So I'm going to leave it at the 6900 I had before for good measure.

And because, you know, 69... Lol

Trip over. Ran great.
Had a blast. 50 miles each way on the curviest road in our area. In a few hrs I'm going up to change the fluids again.

Tomorrow it's hammer time.:woot:

Theres a pic on the wall of my shop of me, drunk, passed out, nekkid AF, at 18 yrs old. :haha:

Luckily it's taken in a way that doesn't show anything bad. Lol.
It's the only time in my life that I partied hard enough to not remember the whole party.
I partied plenty hard after that, but always knew the limit then.

The others at the party (my cousins) tried to sober me up by putting me in the shower but I wouldn't cooperate... So they figured it was because my clothes were on.
So they had the girls strip me.. Then none of the dudes wanted to put me in the shower anymore.
So they left me on the floor and were hosing me there with the shower wand when the grownups that had been called showed up to take over the situation.

They took the pics lol.

I opened up the shift points, raised the rev limiter and started playing.....
There isn't a big enough smiley to cover how happy I am now .
Unfuggin believable!

I've found that it's hard to even flog it... I sub consciously only give it 1/2-3/4 pedal because it doesn't even need more lol.
I'm going to have to leave it in second to even hit 6k with it. In 3rd I'm doing 90+ at 5k-5500 lol.

Even if it still doesn't do standing crazy burnouts.... I don't care lol. It's a friggin BLAST to drive. :thumb:

Chevy says you can't because of the compression ratio. But I've seen it done on YT. And it worked well.
It'll be about 4-5 years before I can put 10k in it again..... Or I may end up divorced lol.

My tundra is 10.2:1 and I’m running 7psi and folks run 14psi from a supercharger on pump gas. You can do it.

It's already 11:1.
I'm sure 7-8 psi wouldn't hurt anything.

That YT vid they did 10 on one of these right out of the crate and were at 900+HP on pump gas.

This is going to move on to beautification.
If I SC anything it'll be an LSA on the old engine that's now going in my Cutlass. :waytogo:

I have to get that in and running so we can drive it and turn heads. Once I do that, my wife might let me crank it up a little lol.

As it is now she already wants to beef up her Yukon and put an exhaust on it. Cause she's jealous of this burb :haha:

When you combine cubic inches with modern LS7 heads and valvetrain you get some fun ponies!

I just hope these are a new and improved version of the LS7 heads. Because stock ones have a HORRIBLE track record of catastrophic failure.

After everything I've read about em I'd rather have aftermarket ones or NICE LS3 type.

Those are LSX heads, with different castings and more head bolts. What did you read is failing on LS7 heads?

The intake valve comes apart and does a dance on the piston.
Usually on modified engines with stock heads.

Lots of tube vids on it.
Bunch of stuff on ls1tech. Or whatever that sites called.

Every one says the stock valve guides are too short.
