LSX454 swapped 95 BASS burb.

Little lower, little cooler, bigger sounds.
Lol. Ironically that the only way I'd do a lithium :haha:

On other things ... It's off the lift and on jack stands so I can get the passenger doors off and get the outer rocker on:thumb:IMG_20260327_131759519_HDR.jpg

Also, I'm getting the bad crank signal light again.IMG_20260327_125324012_HDR.jpg
:doah:

Runs good though :dunno:

Realized I forgot to put my original transmission dipstick back in when the trans was out. Which friggin blows. I really hate the new one. And trying to read it MAY have led to the last trans going bad. I'm not taking that chance with this one.

But it bugs me that I have 10qts in it so far and one time the whole read area is covered, and the next it won't be on the stick. I'd assume it was completely empty and may take 12-13 to be actually full.
But .....?

I did not realize that, I thought they were two terms for the same thing. At any rate, if you have an AGM, gell cell, or flooded lead acid battery installed inside your vehicle it should be installed in a sealed case that is vented outside of the vehicle.
Yeah AGM stands for absorbed glass mat.
The acid is absorbed in the matt so it's more stable and doesn't spill but it's not gel

Didn't get to tacking yet.... Ran into a snag on one of my outers.
But I did take the chance to clean, sand , and paint my jambs.IMG_20260331_225124640_HDR.jpg

Hoping to be welding today. I'm REAL low on shield gas, so I'll have to make a trip to the weld store at some point today.

Nope. Just all the sills and such. Trying to eradicate all the green I can lol.Screenshot_20260311-134803.png

Trying to sort of go for a version of this look, which I screen shot and saved way back right after I bought it.Screenshot_20260314-201426~2.jpg

Little darker, satin, and different wheels..

That screen shot was captured right as the phone was doing that weird flash outline deal lol . Is why the front looks weird.
Which

So..... Chit went sideways :doah:
I had a run in my paint inside the jams.
So I sanded it a little, hit it again, and gave the rest another coat for the Ell of it.

And I got reaction wrinkles all over now:angry1::notworthy:
Not everywhere, but 15-20%IMG_20260401_122139664_HDR.jpgIMG_20260401_122146220_HDR.jpg

All I can think of is strip it off, prime, and just use the body paint to redo em so they all match.

I was trying to keep from opening it if possible till I'm almost ready though.:dunno:
Could buy a quart kit I guess...

In other news, this is the spot I was having an issue fabbing.
Driver's sideScreenshot_20260401-192850~2.jpg

The rocker piece I had stopped at the lineIMG_20260401_113907596_HDR~2.jpg

Had to make this stepped extension IMG_20260401_113903458_MP.jpg

Then fill this gapIMG_20260401_113911101_HDR.jpg

That took a few, but I think I did alright IMG_20260401_120924254_MP.jpgIMG_20260401_120929831_MP.jpg

Now to deal with this clearance for the door corner.
I've already trimmed and formed it out, and made the filler piece . Forgot pics though.

What I started withIMG_20260401_121718199_HDR.jpgIMG_20260401_121844372_HDR.jpgIMG_20260401_121841918_MP.jpg

What it should look like.IMG_20260401_121854864_MP.jpg

Paper rub I did of the piece I made for it.IMG_20260401_123105057_MP.jpg

Where I stopped earlier. IMG_20260401_121932580_MP.jpg
I'll be tacking tonight I believe lol. Every time I try to start I find something else I forgot...:doah:

I had the same issue when I painted my rocker, my guess is bad prep I didn’t wipe it down very well.

It was completely fine for the first coat.
Waited 12 hrs in a 60* garage.
Then the second coat did that. :dunno:

Did you wipe it down again before reapplying the paint?

Btw I don’t know how to paint just curious.

Not with a chemical.

I sanded the run smooth (ish) then wiped the whole thing down quick with a dry paper towel.
And threw another coat on. :dunno:
I've had an issue before where I was told the second coat was layed down too soon. Maybe 12 hrs at 60* wasn't enough...?
May have been fine if I'd waited longer, or wiped the run off when I seen it and resprayed right then.
I was afraid of leaving noticable streaks or something from trying to wipe it off though.

I know there's a window.... Like the body color paint I bought, you have to wait about 15 minutes after each coat for the next one. But if you wait to long, (hr) you have to wait like 24hr+ before it can be coated again.

Before any coat, wipe down w a paint prep wash.
Or wet sand w a bucket of water and some DAWN dishsoap mixed in. Then rinse and thoroughly dry. Prior to paint wipe w a tac rag.

I believe it's a chemical reaction. The reason it crinkles is because the sanding left the edges of the old material exposed again. The solution may be a primer/sealer with less aggressive solvents.

It did it in a few places I didn't sand also.
I'm going to stubbornly wait a few days, sand again, clean it, and try once more. If that goes south itll get sanded and 2k primed.
2k won't react like that I'm told.

All welded about 3 am last nightIMG_20260402_011459125_HDR.jpgIMG_20260402_011502186_HDR.jpg

Started grinding this morning IMG_20260402_112746654_HDR.jpgIMG_20260402_112743788_MP.jpgIMG_20260402_112741024_MP.jpg

And realized I forgot something lolIMG_20260402_112754083_HDR.jpg

I knew I had to finish the lower lip plug welds., but entirely forgot about that butt seam :doah:

Whoops, lol.
