LSX454 swapped 95 BASS burb.

Little lower, little cooler, bigger sounds.
Picked up some Nason epoxy primer for the roof.
Used air craft stripper on it and then the surface conditioner. Forgot to do the return thing :doah:
Eh.. oh well.
Only found about a dozen of those little spots under the paint, including the ones already shown.
And none past about 8" or so from the windshield.

I'm only stripping to the ribbed portion. So basically just above the front seats. Anything beyond that can be repaired easy enough if I missed something.

Pics later, since I'm at the house right now and forgot to get them lol.

Gotta finish stripping it off yet.
I'm going to take it to clean metal, all the way to the rubber strips, and sand into the factory stuff a ways back to make sure I get anything that touched the ACS off.
After it gets the epoxy primer, I'll do a coat of high build 2k, sand with the rest of the truck... And it'll all get one big coat of the 2k high build before paint, to make it all even.

I put down 3 coats of the epoxy primer.
I'm going to let that cure till Thursday.
Then sand it with 600 grit and clean the rest of the top off.
And paint the entire top with the sealer/primer.

Hopefully final prime/paint, on the 23rd-24th

Well, my plans are dashed :doah:
I didn't know there's a such thing as slow/medium/hard Activator. :dunno:
I thought activator was activator, and the S,M,H thing was all in your reducer.
Apparently not.IMG_20260707_154524843_HDR.jpgIMG_20260707_154533437_MP.jpg

It's 95 out and 84 in the shop.
So, I'm going to wait till later tonight and see if the temp drops enough.
If not, I get the right activator (backordered) and fuggin wait :notworthy::doah:

I have a gallon of slow reducer.... Just didn't know the activator difference.
NASON, and a few other brands, activator IS just activator.

I did go ahead and do the epoxy primer I had on the whole hood, the edges of the roof, and the rocker panels.
I'm currently trying to get the sealer on the rest of the roof.
But.... My fricken 2 month old sealer was a brick under liquid. Getting it shook and tested at O'Reilly's now.

Truck body was down to 81.
So I may actually be able to get a full coat of primer on yet :woot:
Fingers crossed lol.IMG_20260707_193936411_HDR.jpg

It's all one color.
I am done for the night.... And my neighbors are probably very grateful lol.IMG_20260707_235706623_HDR.jpg

The roof, is not great... But it's the roof, I'm not tall enough to see it, so I don't really care. Lol

I started spraying the 2k high build, and it was NOT happy. Coming out on rapid spurts with a chitty pattern.
I got the whole roof done, before I realized I have been using my frickin HTE gun with the tiny clear tip and the hvlp was still in the drawer :doah:

Went down much better with the hvlp lol.

I'm glad I have a lot of paint, because I'm going to need to practice on my garage door a little to get my flow and pace right.
