M1009 Standard Shift Build(The Greatest Adventure)

You have to either do a custom shackle flip or move the front spring hanger forward on the frame. Or both. Some guys report axle hop after going to 63" rear springs since they're usually pretty soft springs, but I think it's mainly in pickup trucks. Blazers have more weight in the rear so it's less of an issue.

You would have to, If you wanted the centering right. For me it didn't matter.

For a hundred bucks you would be stupid not to buy the lock rite.

That must be whys my brain hurts from thinking about all this :doah:

I know people say the Gov Lok is better with the 14 bolts but I still don't trust or like them. Give me a real locker any day.

For $100 more I'd get the Lock Right axle in a heartbeat.

Right on!

I'm hittin a couple junkyards in the morning first. I don't have much hope, but one place said they get 75-100$ per axle:thumb:

Although I disagree with Martin on the auto vs manual, I'm with him all the way, if that axle with the locker is in good shape it's probably worth it. I would still offer him$ 400. Skip the 63's, way easier to get a set of 56's to bolt up and do what you need.

I have scattered 2 Gov-bombs... One in a 14ff the other in a 14sf.... G80 = STAY AWAY...stay far away....

Get the lock rite axle. And drums for the rear are just fine, they work really well when tuned right plus it's easy to keep a working parking brake.

Well, you can fit an axle in the back of a blazer
