M1009 Standard Shift Build(The Greatest Adventure)

Well friday plans are set.

In the morning richard is coming over so I can help with his fuel seepage problem. Then strip DA 10 blt down for spindles. Followed by favors of various kinds as payment. Consume an ungodly amount of bl smoothies. Then build rich a spare tire mount:thumb:

I have a few extra ten bolts as well. :)

Bring em out if you want/can. 10 bolt parts are good to have handy.

My inner race is spinning in my hub last time I put it together, so I'm sure it won't last long.

Rich, if you get your stuff fixed early enough you should go pick up some 1.75 tube

Mosesburb used a spindle/locking hub on his carrier........Rich....I look forward to assisting in the durability testing of the new bumper....."walk in the park" take 2 perhaps :D

Have fun out there :waytogo:

Thoughts or suggestions?

I just sketched this while drinking a beer so any input would help.

Put down the beer and try again. :haha:

I don't like how you cut to gain clearance on one side but you have zero clearance gain on the other, basically rendering any sheet metal trimming on the left useless.

I like the theory of having to just roll the tire over, bolt it up and swing it into place. This only works if the ground is level. Too low and you still need to lift the tire onto the studs which could prove difficult as it may just swing away as you fight with the tire, unless you use the locking hub or something. If the ground is too high, you now have to work under the tire leaning towards you to get it lined up on the studs and bolted on.

Why not a swing down carrier? It folds down and becomes a step up into the bed or whatever. Easy to lay a spare on and bolt up. Just a thought.

Bumpers on, just needs finish work on the acrual bumper part. The add ons will come later. But no pics yet. Gotta keep you guys waiting
