:D

I hate mud.

Yet am some how inexplicably unable to resist driving through it if the opportunity arises.....

That green environmentalist bastard replaced all my break fluid with swamp water.

Y'all may not be familiar with Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Swamp Music". That's the first song that popped in my head.

There was a girl in my class in middle school that we called Swamp Thang. She did look kinda like that toy and the TV show character.

:haha::haha::haha::haha::haha:

Is that swamp things signal for winning? I see the picture and think he would say "Touchdown" or "Take that Rich".

I just got home from a trip with some "over landing" folks in Maine. In total we covered about 300 miles of backroads with big pot holes (the ord springs were / are life savors), loose rocks, and lots and lots and lots and lots of dust.

Courtney, who takes most of our photos and was signed on as my navigator got overly intoxicated and decided to tell the "over landing" folks that this trip wasn't real off-roading because we were on roads. They didn't find it as amusing as I did :D Anyways, we did a bit of our own exploring with led to a few fun mishaps.

This really was an endurance shake down for the old truck. I got a bulge and a split in the sidewall of a new MTR. :angry1: My spare is directional so this became a double tire change. My studs and nuts had so much grit in them that I ruined two studs on one hub. I drove about half the trip on my 33 inch directional spare with 4 out of 6 lugs.

My new used radio that Glenn hooked me up with crapped out after a day and a half. I attribute this to either extreme amounts of dust or just all the bone jarring bumps.

A bolt fell out of my steering stabilizer and it got serial crushed by my leaf springs.

I sunk my truck and had to get winched out for about 75 feet, but what else is new

And somehow all of the above made it a totally awesome adventure with all the proper mishaps that make you feel like you're living life on the edge.

Oh, and we also went night wheeling and saw seven Moose in the span of about 2 hours.

I'll apologize again for a shortage of pics. This time it was mostly because I was driving.

Ever had two snatches at once?

The puddle on the right in front of my truck is where I first sunk. I broke the surface tension of the mud and then I had to get dragged back quite a ways before the truck popped back above ground.

The moose is hard to see.

2 things...

Will the tire place warranty the damaged tire?

And in Massboy's thread you mentioned getting an alt rebuilt. Not sure about the north shore, but down this way we use Bo's Auto Electric in Whitman. I've heard he's a little odd to deal with but knows his stuff. He rebuilt some stuff for my dad's 48 Farmall tractor.

I'm going to wash my truck and the tire before I try to have it warrantied. It definitely looks like it could be a tire failure because of the bulge.

There is a shop right close by me that I want to try first, but just for convenience. I'll give Bo's a call though, and see if he can give me a quote. I've heard I should expect to pay $100 an alternator..

The only reason you made it home in one piece is the fact that you had Swamp Thang with you. Better feed him some more swamp water to get him fueled up for the next adventure. His job is to make sure everything goes okay in the swamp and nothing bad happens. You must keep him happy or pay the price.

Damn dude the radio crapped out on you? I feel bad for giving you a chitty radio.
