Max`s 02 lb7 Sold.upgraded to 2012 LML

Wish I would have gone with those rather than the ranchos on mine.

So do I !! :doah: We had Rancho 5000s they didn't last very long at all! :eek1:

Got the fronts on today! Gotta say money well spent!!
Just wish we could leave it in the garage for the winter like yours is! :thumb:

great links Dean...thanks for the info!

here ya go.......come to MI and help me do that upgrade, and while your at it bring the family!!!:pimp:

July 4 we went for a drive two hours away from our place to look at some Speckled Park steers that the kids are going to buy for their 4H projects this year.

As we are driving around in the pasture with all the cow sniffing, licking and standing in front of the truck, "Tamest group of cows ever" we noticed the unthinkable! :eek1::doah:

Ah Sh!t!! The exhaust is starting to smoke white! I have been waiting for the injectors to go out for years...Three hundred and sixty nine thousand KLMS on it so really for a LB7 I think we did good!

The truck started to smoke so bad I was worried about getting it back home. But it drove just fine. Albeit embarrassing! We got back home and I took it to my buddy Lorne. He is a GM master mechanic that has his own shop one mile from our home.

He tested the injectors and found two or them leaking the rest of my fuel system was spot on.

With us being extremely busy at the farm we decided to get Lorne to replace all eight of them at his shop. But he was all booked up for a bit and after three days of smoking it quit!?? Still stunk out the exhaust, but no white smoke and the crankcase wasn`t filling up with fuel so we drove it.
Lorne said drive it till it starts smoking again it will be fine for driving as long as it isn`t making oil.

My wife wasn't as confident as Lorne about just driving it like that, so we insured Colbys 01 and dropped of ours off to get fixed last Tuesday.

We got it back yesterday and all is good again! :woot:Hopefully these will last as long as the old set!

I've been putting 2 stroke Oil in every tank, and changing the fuel filter often and mine have been good. I want to buy one of those fancy adapters so I can use CAT or Donaldson filters. They cost 10 bucks rather than the factory or wix 70. Now to replace all the soft fuel line and rebuild the filter head.

good timing Dean...sounds like it give you a heads up to get it in to Lorne...who by the way I have yet to meet!

Yeah I use Howes in every tank and change the filter every 20thousand klms, I wanted to add another filter but never have. :dunno: The kids 01 has a secondary Racor filter on the frame...his injectors have been replaced as well , Luckily before he got the truck.
The injectors we got are brand new Bocsh, with all the newest updates. "supposedly" Hope they last!

For sure Dave! Lorne is a good guy, just very busy and never home on the weekends. Always out camping! Focker! :haha:

Got new tires on the old truck yesterday.
Toyo 285/75!16 AT
M55 in 255/85/16 were back ordered and Kris wanted to try something different!?
Posting this up so I can keep track of how they last.

Those look good, a little bigger...and it looks like Lorn's place is where you got them mounted up?

Seeing your truck in the snow makes me want to put a plow on mine. But then I picture the cancer starting.

Yup Lorne sells tires now!
The 285s are just a bit shorter but wider than the 255s They look good... but I still like M55 in The 255/85/16 .

Yes the cancer is real!!
So much fun to watch you truck turn back into dirt!

Well hell, that's pretty convenient! It'd be really cool if he replaced windshields too. :flipoff7:

I must have missed the aspect ratio difference on my first read. Usually wider doesn't bode well for longer lasting...but there may be other things that will overcome that.

That windshield is factory installed Man! :haha:

I know...I didn`t really want 285s but WTH they got tread and were available plus they are 250.00 bucks cheaper than 255 m55s
