Max`s 02 lb7 Sold.upgraded to 2012 LML

Swapped in a steering box, It came from Colby’s 01. It had no play but leaked bad out of the shaft seal. His truck got a spare that I got from Russel years ago. I replaced the seal on his a finally stuck it in my truck last week. Mine has had a ton of play in it for a few years now. This one is much tighter!

So after many years of starter grind on the ring gear we ordered parts. Was going to get my neighbor Lorne to do the job for us but after waiting almost a month for him to make time for a big job we took it to a shop in Lacombe that specializes in Duramax.
He had the truck the in and out a day after I called him. Great!
I had Kate’s Dodge in the garage while ours was getting fixed and it leaked oil on the floor “Cummins”. I didn’t clean the floor before we parked our truck back in its spot and didn’t notice the drip from our never ever leaked on the floor in 18 years truck!

Made a call and was told “That’s bad timing “

Yeah! :flipoff1:

Torque converter seal is gone...We took it to town yesterday and it was leaking so bad I didn’t think it would make it home.

It did.

I’m just going to fix it myself like I should have done in the first place.

:doah:

I did it myself and now it doesn’t leak!

Got the converter pressure tested. The trans shop didn’t trust it so we spent another 800.00 bucks on a builit torque converter, and new seal. Presto fixed!

That ally is a bitch to handle...300 lbs. Converter bolts are extra fun to get at and reinstall but overall everything went good.

I was gonna say to check that, because I cracked my stocker on my old lb7.

No kidding. I buy the cheap generic stuff by the case, and it still hurts at the rate I go through it...

Ok then. That's actually less than I pay for the generic chlorinated stuff (works better for non-welding) by the case.

Sheet that delco juice comes on sale for 2.50$ a can sometimes eh
2.50 a can? Adjusted for the us dollar that would be 1.89 a can. Hell, I clear out the shelf if I find brake cleaner for 2.75 or cheaper.
I wonder what a Chevy dealer would sell me some for.

See my post, I don't know if he was using hockey pucks, or units of freedom.

Usually reg price is around the $7 mark.

Just picked up a dozen cans from princess auto for 2.99 a piece yesterday.
