My '70 C/10 - The Rat Bastard... [Won't Idle.]

man, you have been "minimum waged"...:doah:

Minimum waged...an occurrence of irritation, aggravation, and anger caused by a minimum wage earning mouth breather somewhere who couldn't even __________________________ correctly.

in this case the blank would have "put the fockin 90* wire ends in the "fockin 90* box" (descriptive phrase is totally up to the aggrieved party)

we use this around here alllll too often..:doah::dunno:

So um, how much HP is this BB gonna have?

I think I can ask that question here right?

BTW That burrito shop next to your house is pretty good.

And if you want the vac canister turned more, just start the plug wires one more counter clockwise. My canister is (IIRC) pointing at the AC box :D
vrrrmmmmm

Well... Factory numbers say 330HP, with Cali Emissions crap. *barf*

With:

- Cold air intake
- Polished pistons and heads
- New Valves
- MSD system
- Shorty headers
- 3" exhaust
- No Emissions crap
- No Cat's....

I'm hoping, at minimum, 350 at the wheels.
I think that's a reasonable hope.

And, with it being a big block with a 'high stall' converter, I intend to use all of them.

BTW That burrito shop next to your house is pretty good.
Really?...

I live in a 75% Hispanic neighborhood, and you say "that burrito shop"...:haha:
WHICH BURRITO SHOP!?!? :haha::haha::haha:

20 over stock isn't bad. :thumb:

If you pull out of the driveway and go left, then left at the first stop sign. That one. We had lunch there while waiting for you.
Then we missed our flight by 2 minutes!
We should have got it to go. :haha:

Sorry about the burrito talk. I'm just being goofy ass me.

I still feel terrible. :doah:

And, this truck would be a turbocharged beast, if the block wasn't so rusty.
Can't win em all. :haha:

I'm gonna dyno it, after the initial tune.
Maybe even bring Bill with me to do the adjustments, while its on the Dyno.

The guys that run the Dyno, at UTI, already said we can tune it there.
As long as the class gets to help set up, and watch, etc.... And, it passes safety.
*I believe they mentioned safety, 4 times...* :haha:

Whatever.... Free dyno time, is free dyno time. :deal:
I'll check the straps myself... :haha:

it looks good Mike! your lucky ya hooked up with the dude... carb shops are getting exceptionally rare these days, not like it was 20, 25 yr's ago..... think we have 1, maybe 2 pro carb rebuild companies in our state now, if that....

I just did a pair of quads last week... filled with sludge and sticking accel pumps..... :doah: 5, 10 yr's ago, I would rebuild at least 6 a yr.. that last pair where the first ones I've done in 2 yr's now..... carbs are getting pretty rare, even in the decade behind marine game...

Damn, man...

I just typed out this 5 paragraph thing about old guys, and hot rods,
And how Bill's old, So he's prolly gonna retire soon, and yada yada....

Then my bastard ipad died, and wiped it out.
Sonuvab.... :haha:

Anyways... Paul, is 350hp a decent guesstimate?
People always ask, and that's what I've been telling them my estimate is. :dunno:

I just hate it when you hear "car guys" throwing outrageous numbers out there,
Only to get b*tch-slapped by reality on Dyno-Day...

I don't wanna be outrageous.

Oh, and thanks... She's cleaning up pretty good. :D
Nowhere near Mutt's turnaround, but decently so, I should say.

I took this pic the other day, just to have an updated one for my phone.
Nothin' special... Just a 'Dat Azz' shot... :D

well, to be honest, I didn't pay attention to what parts you put back in, heads, cam, compression and such.. my bad... :o

I think those #'s are certainly doable with something of a cam and a bit of squeeze to that air pump......

tho not dyno'd, the 402 in my Chevelle was probably about 450 pretty conservatively, maybe 475. with good heads, solid cam, etc, it romped pretty hard.. that was a Tony File motor... dude knew some chit!

It's all the factory 402cui/330hp truck parts, except the cam is slightly larger than factory.
I didn't write the numbers down, but I remember a very small difference.

I guess I'm just curious where Polishing the heads, Shorty headers, MSD stuff,
and Deleting SMOG/Cats gets me.

hey, ya spin it fast enough, it'll make it easy... till it grenades...

nah, that's a valid claim....

ah, ok, good... for all the nightmares of even cheap headers, it's still really a foundation piece for building good hp now, and down the road..
