My '70 C/10 - The Rat Bastard... [Won't Idle.]

Meh, I started with a rusted out hulk 10 years ago that barely ran, now I have a freshly painted truck that barely runs with a 454. So technically your beating me all day long. I like where this is going, so keep up the good work. And believe me, I have 3 kids, 1 dog, 2 houses, a soon to be wife, and now my tree laying in my neighbors yard and crushing his fences, I know all about broke.

With all this extra stuff you have done, it could be running by now is all i am saying.

Really? Like what?

And, I swear to gawd, if you say "the time it took to do _____...",
And DONT consider the $$$ situation... I'm gonna flip the f*ck out. :haha:

radio do you need that? the lowering stuff ? all the stuff you have done BESIDES getting it to start run and drive. that can all be done while its being driven. you put the cart before the horse imo.

like said.... everything happens at everyones own pace. it'll get done... when its done. :waytogo: I have a S**T ton I want to do to my burb..... but its the slowest build on here I think:haha: its taken me 8 months to put speakers in:rolleyes: (still not in:whistle:) I'd say a lot has been done on this truck in the time hes had it:thumb:

I can see both sides of it. On one side, get the thing moving! It'll keep motivation up.

On the other side, it's come a HELL of a long way. He'll work at his own pace as time and money allows - don't like it? Too bad! Don't **** on someone's project.

I get it... People wanna see it run... Great.
I especially get Issaam's wanting to see it run.
But, I can only do what money allows.
I can't just walk into a parts store and say,
"Hey there, why don't you just GIVE me what I need."

ok Ill stop after this, Isaam basically said he had the parts to finish your truck. you keep bringing up $$$ maybe he can help you finish it.

Time vs. money.... Again....
My radio was the old one from the K5.... So, ZERO DOLLARS THERE.
The speakers were $10/each.... Man.... I really coulda bought $100 worth of stuff for that, huh?

I'm dealing with lowering because its almost free.
I have the time... NOT the money, again. :waytogo:

I HAVE DONE THE OTHER SH*T, because I have the time... And, it was cheap.
Are you reading what im posting?
Or, are you just saying things?

I feel like I couldn't be any more clear about this...

If I have the time, and something is super-cheap, I'm gonna do that first.
Or... I could sit on my ass all day, NOT do an of this sh*t while I have the time,
Wait for enough money to get it running, and then back track,
And do all the sh*t that COULD HAVE BEEN DONE NOW...

is that the right course of action?

Honestly....

I'll probably be grabbing a couple parts from Issaam, to hurry this up a bit.
I'm just sick of other people trying to tell me how to live.

Build yer own sh*t....

Next time I build something, I'm not posting SH*T, till its done.
F*ck this sh*t.....

Or maybe people could talk about there own junk and how to build it in THEIR own thread. IMO

Who cares if its a fluid motion of a build or a complete mess. If you don't have something nice to say than.... Take off eh!

It's coming together bit by bit mike :thumb:

Keep up the good work buddy, I think this builds hauling ass compared to a lot on here. My k5 hasn't moved under it own power in almost a year and a half. I just keep "fixing" it...

Don't let anybody discourage you from posting in your own build thread.
You've been doing a great job.
I can appreciate the times where you stay busy because funds are low. I've been doing a lot of that lately.

I missed the part where you keep asking for help.
So you missed the July anniversary deadline, big deal. There's always next years anniversary.

Like said before if someone don't like it they can unsubscribe.

Yeah its much better to have a cobbled together peice of **** hack job that runs, than taking your time and doing things right the first time..

Good call guys

I have no problem with how anyone build their toys. I like yours, And i haven't even worked on mine in like 4 years except plow snow with it.

As far as timelines go, I think he's doing pretty good - my build thread started in Sept '07 (that's when it started, not when I got the truck). :rotfl:

Hey Mike I didn't mean for my concern for the blocks to be a stab at your build or taken negatively. I have only ever seen them used once and was just sharing what happened. I haven't done my research on building a lowered 2wd truck but if there's people out there running them with no problems them **** it and run em. I understand trying to save a buck when you can:thumb:

Sounds like square stock blocks for lowering 2wd truck = fine :pimp:

Square stock blocks for lifted 4x4 with 44"s = not fine :doah:

As far as your truck it's bad ***. Love what you've done with the thing. And you have accomplished much more on this thing than I have on my build so let the haters hate. Keep on building at your own pace. :thumb:

Mike, build what you want... I can certainly relate...

most guys who say sh*t haven't built, or especially fabbed, cr@p themselves, so it's easy to talk sh*t on the web when ya just drive around in mostly stock, or bolt-on parts type rigs...
