My '70 C/10 - The Rat Bastard... [Won't Idle.]

him... sorry...

it could cause a vibe, etc.. but that will not stop it from lighting off..

have you readjusted valves between last start and now? any chance they are too tight, no compression?

Valves are adjusted right.
Theres enough compression on #1 to blow my thumb off the plug hole.
But, I guess its time to do a real test.

Have you tried shaking the magic 8 ball?

I really can't wait to hear what the problem is, I'm just sitting back waiting.

Well.... Today was interesting. :doah:

Checked everything... Again.
A-Z... top to bottom... Back to front.
Made sure everyything was 100% correct.
I mean EVERYTHING.
Every circuit, wire, resistance rating, gear, tooth, cam, crank, valve, etc.
EVERYTHING.

After all that, all of that testing, she still wouldnt fire.... Not a fart.

So, I slapped my hand over the exhaust part of the header, blocking all flow.
Cranked it.... NOTHING. :doah:
Literally nothing at all.
I dont even think the pistons are moving,
But, if they are, the compression is going somewhere else FAST.

So.... I hop in the cab and watch the oil pressure, while I crank it.
Sure enough that mutherf*cker gets to 60 psi, in about 6 seconds.

Paul.... This only means one thing, don't it...

if you are getting oil pressure the cam is turning, if the cam is turning the crank is turning. I wonder if the exhaust is plugged up.

Fwiw... I pulled the #1 plug, and did the thumb-over-the-hole thing.
Nothing... No pressure whatsoever.
Thats definitely in the cylinder/valve area.

even bent valves will build exhaust.
Exactly...

I think this f*cking POS motor dropped a ring or some ****.
I dunno.

Are you sure it has pistons? Even if all the rings are bad it would have some air movement. Pull a head. I think the valve would have to be broken off to have nothing, or a huge hole in the piston.

Bro, do you even have pistons? :haha:

IIRC, Mike had the heads off, so he would have noticed a piston missing. I get foggier in the details, but I vaguely recall the block being rusty as all getout, like it had been stored under water. :dunno:

Anyway, this is when we all bow our heads and recall that big blocks are never, ever cheap.
