My 86 K5 build

sure is a short little thing eh?

Did the shift fork assembly not come assembled?

No, it's separate (in that little box shown in the pic)....well some of it is assembled on the box already, but the rest you do...after looking at the instructions...doesn't look too bad.

I don't have a regular blackbox/ecobox to compare too, but I'm pretty amazed at how short it really is. According to what I'm measuring, by the time its all said and done it should be roughly within 1" in total length (titan box/205 fully together) as my SYE NP241. So when I eventually do get it in the truck, I will probably just kick my rear axle back 1" with my current EZ inch in there (I have it in the stock location right now) and won't have to deal with driveshaft's at all :)

It's pretty straightforward, I've just noticed that sometimes it comes assembled and other times it's not. Mine was.....

The length is noticeably shorter. What's your wheelbase at?

Here's a comparison for ya

That thing is tiny. You are going to love that.

Martin

Should be a pretty significant upgrade as far as my gearing options go. I like though how by going the route I'm going I will have a spare SYE NP241 with it's own cable shifter hanging around to use in something else

Nice addition dude!

It's funny, I remember when our rigs were comparable......

Yeah, I would say they are a tad bit different now, haha

My front is probably stretched about 3-4 inches at this point, and the rear is in the stock location...haven't measured exactly what the WB is...I would guess maybe 108 or something like that.

NWF has on their website this thing is 5.35" long...so roughly a full 3" shorter than the ecobox for sure...pretty cool.

Brother came into town, so took the kids camping/wheeling. Hit Diff Hanger trail and Boulder Dash trail. Obviously these were new trails for me in Idaho, and they were freaking awesome. Plan to come back to this area again. My brother broke a passenger front axle shaft, I got some more body damage to add to the others I had, and we had to drive out of pretty deep river to get out which was a little fun with my bro being in 3 wheel drive. All in all, it was freaking awesome!

Loaded up and ready to go:

So we proceeded to pull the front hub off since his passenger front tire was locked up cause the brake to at least have it free spin so he could drive out in 3 wheel drive. But his steering was severely limited cause the brake too...which made it real fun to drive out the rest of the way :D

But finally got back to camp and setup the tent trailer, started a fire, had some dinner, and enjoyed the night cooking smores. Was a good time all around

looks like a really great time! I need to get out and go camping and wheeling this year. Side note... any close up pictures of your brothers rear fenders not attached? just curious how its mounted to his cage.

I'm pretty sure there are some pics in there that should help you out

How's the wheeling over on your side of Idaho? Is there very many trails and places to go? Over here it seems pretty limited but I'm gonna start going with one of the local clubs to get to know the area and find some trails.

It seems pretty good...that area is south of Mountain Home and there is a whole network of trails in that one area...you could easily spend a couple days there to hit everything. I think it's worth the drive...very cool area. I think there are some that are north of me too...but not sure. Hoping to get more familiar with the whole state over the next year of so. Find some cool trails down your way and I'll come down and wheel with ya!

Yeah I need to start getting out there with the local guys. Now that we bought a house I'll have more time once we get all moved in.

Where did you buy at? We are starting to look right now (even went to a few showings). Maybe in a few months we can find something and get our stuff moved over. Really hoping I find something with a shop this time so I have somewhere to put all my crap. Even if there is no shop, if there is at least a place to build a shop later on, I'd be cool with that too!

Know this will take your build way back but by chance do you have any close up pics other then onces on here when you mounted your F250 shock towers from ORD?

Thanks!

i want to see some pitbull rockers mounted on this thing, when are yours suppose to arrive?
