Time to fix the caster in front axle. After installing the shims to correct the driveshaft angle the caster is at 6* negative
Tie rods and steering stabilizers removed
Grinded off the welds on the knuckle.
Thought I could just cut the weld off and smack the knuckle around but I was wrong. Had to take off everything cause the heat from the rosebud was gonna melt everything rubber or plastic
Heres all the parts removed. Gonna remove the blue paint and repaint black now.
Apparently the knuckles are beveled so I had to cut in at a angle to get them loose
Used a torch to help get inside of the knuckle welds. Didnt want to use the torch since it leaves a mess of slang so gonna have to do more cleaning later before welding.
This angle shows how much had to be removed so it would move
Finally got it to move after hours of cutting, heating with rosebud and beating on it with a 10lb hammer.
Crazy how much I had to move it. Over 14*
Got it at 8* positive caster.
Sad part is that's only one side so far. And it was much harder than the previous axles I've done in the past. Not looking forward to getting the other side done.
