The frame will be constructed of 4x2 channel with crossmembers every 3ft.

Dimond plate fenders that are strong enough to run over

Tap break away system , led lights in steel boxes, 2 5/16 Bulldog coupler with 8" of adjustment.

I'm too chicken to build a trailer. I know it wouldn't be flat, straight or safe... So I am going to buy one. But you on the other hand have 'the skillz'. Good Luck.

Looks good so far... I like the diamond plate fenders, those are very cool.

This deffinatly aint the first trailer i have built.
I am actually going to start building them to order.......any size....

I need this one by next Friday night.... So i better hurry... It only takes about a week to build one if you have all of the matirial....

why didnt you just make a deck over???

deck over sucks for cars. Great for big trucks, but pretty much anything else its no good. Try getting a lowered car up a ramp that is at that slight bit more of an angle, no fun. Hell it can suck on a low trailer sometimes.

Just my thought as to why not a deck over anyway.

Good luck on trailer. Let's see pics when done.

The only reason to own a lowered car is if it's from Europe ie, Italy, Germany. I hate lowered import (asian) cars.

So lowered Camaros, Mustangs, Firebirds, and any other muscle car are terrible? Who said I was talking about Asian cars? My sister 92 mustang rubs a slight bit when going up the ramps on our car trailer(non-overaxle, car lowered about 1.5").

You also have to consider that an over wheels trailer sits that much higher and puts the load that much higher. Higher = Higher CoG = More Sway.

Anyway the trailer is looking good. Keep us updated. What are you doing brake wise?

It will have brakes on both axles with a Tap brake system. I also have a Prodigy brake controler in the truck. I am going to change it to the new P3 controller, it has a diag system that will tell you if you have a short in the system and will also monitor the brake wear.

This is legaly the widest trailer that you can tow in most states. 102" from the outside of the fenders.

No, you are right. I was mostly talking about asian import cars. I see so many of those damn things around So Cal that I can't stand them. However, I really don't like any type of lowered truck of any make or model. Pointless.

WHAT??? Your kidding right?

A hot rod 72 Blazer with a 3-2 rake sporting 60 series rubber with a BB that can carve corners and launch like a rocket. That's 'Pointless'?

Yeah, I don't think so. And if you try to qualify that a Blazer is more of 'car' because it's not specifically designed to haul cargo. Then just take out 72 Blazer and put in 19XX Chev/GMC Short Wide/Long Bed Std Cab/XtraCab/Crewcab C/K10-20-30 and you still have a super cool street beast.

I am not a car guy. So when I want to build a street rod... it has to be a truck.

I guess I will have to build a 'pointless' street crusher one day.

The price diff. depends on how and what you are building one out of. You can buy a really cheap car hauler with 2 3500lb (7000lb total less the waight of the trailer that is atleast 1500lb. about 5500lb load cap.)axles for around $2000. Then you will be maxing out the trailer with just the truck, You wont be able to safley carry any extras. My trailer will have 2 6k axles (12000lb) so i will be able to carry atleast 10k with out worring. You get what you pay for. The cheap trailers are built out of angle iron witch is a lot weaker then channel. I am spending atleast $1500 in parts and matirial but i am going with the best i can,,, and the strongest. You can use normal lights that you can get in a kit with the wires for like $20 or you can use the led lights that are a lot brighter and last longer and look better for around $20 each for the tail lights.

Thanks. I've heard that the price difference between building and buying wasn't that much. Sounds like you’re building a better trailer for less. It's the price of your labor that could be the deciding factor.
