National Get together of K-5s (EAST Coast) July 2007 UPDATED 4-10-07!

Well as I have gotten older I have gotten slower! I used to be hell on wheels but now I find I run around 56 to 63 mph also it saves gas too. I have 3:08 front and rear and get 17.5 mpg. Well I know NOT TO take old US 30 in PA! *lol long story.....
Have to see what is the shortest and best route also.

Must be nice. I've never gotten better than 9mpg. I'm hoping it actually gets better with the 4.10 gears, since the engine isn't working as hard.

TTT
Still working on things I might be taking a trip to Rausch in a month. No news back from GM. Should I see if Summit racing might come? Need some input on companies........ who would you like to see there?

Great idea

Well I am One more person you could count on trying to go if we could start a bash sounds like a great idea. We neeed to plan one

OK so as some of you know I have been looking for a rear seat in tan cloth. One of the people who run rausch has one that is just the year and type I need also he has a blazer that he asked if I needed any other parts. It has all the trim I need to pimp my ride :pimp: . So it looks like next month I will be taking a trip there. Anyone want to go and wheel to check it out? Probably be September 8th (Friday).

What I was looking for \/

I might be up for it. I doubt I will have the K5 though so wheeling might be a right seat for me. If we do some easy chit I will see if Lynn will let me borrow a rig for the day.

I have to talk to Witter Wednesday so I will see on date for sure. I will go and get parts then wheel if I have enough money....LOL

So this is happening next summer?

Yes: and BF Goodrich has donated a certificate for four BF Goodrich All Terrain T/A KO or Mud Terrain T/A KM tires. Max wheel size 17" for the Summer Blaze. The lucky winner will have their picture taken in front of the BF Goodrich Banner and may be used in future BF Goodrich advertising.

We are planing on July 13th, 14th and 15th 2007 at Rausch Creek Off Road Park in Joliett, PA Just 2 hours from both Philadelphia and New York City, 2.5 hours from Baltimore. Lynn who is one of the managers has been very nice and helping to see we have a great time. They have made sure the trails are wide enough and want us to have a fun time at their park.

Saturday will be the date but most sound like overnight camping (party) is going to go on. We are going to try to get some companies to come also. Right now I Have secured four tires from B.F. Goodrich's event group. Chris form CRB Off Road Products will be there maker of bumper,s rear tire rack / gas can carriers and roll cages http://crboffroad.com/ . I am still working on LMC Truck. No news from GM Hummer div.

The park is divided into two parts, based on the topography of the area. A key feature of the west property is a large glacial deposit, called the "Rock Creek". The deposit begins within a few feet of a main access road and extends over 1800 feet. At its widest point, the deposit is over 150 feet wide. The boulders that litter the area are large, and packed close enough together that only a handful of trees have proven sturdy enough to survive in the area. The deposit has been providing entertainment for the larger vehicles that venture into the park and has proven to be a challenge to the best drivers and spotters.

Have you actually gotten a second certificate for next year or still just the one for this year's Blazer Bash?

BF G tires for 07

Dennis has promised the certifacte and will be mailing it to me in December when they are printed. I am going down to Rausch in September to check the place out and get my seat. The owners said they would be happy to show me and anyone else that comes down the park. Our own private tour!!

I am getting my trip tick from AAA next week and plan to leave Friday September 8 th in the morning from Toledo. Much like a pre trip and checkout areas for rest stops (pee breaks) and lunch stops. It would be nice to have you along.

Be careful with those AAA triptiks. They take you on every little pos two-track road to get you there in the shortest distance, regardless of time. Found that out the hard way on a trip to Myrtle Beach. :eek1:

You're better off using Mapquest and selecting 'fastest route'.

I wouldn't mind taking a trip down there but on September 8th I'll be on a cruise ship, somewhere in the middle of the Carribbean. :D

Rausch Creek is an awesome place. I just spent the weekend there with my 71 that I just finished. Many of the trails are TIGHT for a fullsize, but very do-able with carefull driving. Rock creek is SICK, if there is going to be alot of us, Lynn would need to clear some new campsites probably. And there is an Exxon mini truck stop 7 miles away with showers, a pizza hut and a quiznos, but there is nothing close by to air back up with.

Lynn and Witter are working on the widening and that is part of why I am going down. Lynn has been great about keeping things going and with the south now open it should be great.

So what trails did you run GB? How was lake Christy BTW He finally got the mud churned up so much he sunk. He's on 17 inches of lift with 44's.

Have you seen the Photo Gallery Lynn is putting up showing the trails and other areas?
