Keep the fleetside, flatbeds are![]()

that flat bed is bad ass. but everyone does flat beds either way im in!

Well I still think the Qjet is the best carb for these trucks, I sold me nice rebuilt one, but let me check if I still have rebuildable one, we can rebuild it.Ok so I will be doing a flatbed this summer with tubing but while I save for the crazy cost to do it I need to address a few other issues. The first is the carb. The previous owner put on an edelbrock qjet look alike but the performance sure doesn't match the qjet. What is the best carb out their for tow rig duty? I have been using FI for so long im outta the carb game. I was going to swap a TBI setup onto this truck but here in cali it would cause a bunch of unwanted smog issues.

make a list because I forget a lot. Thanks! Yeah I use to run the qjet's on my 75 k5, and rebuilt it multiple times over the years. Never had a problem with it. the edelbrock the PO put on this truck just doesnt seem to be as smooth or have the throttle response that I remember having on my K5. I already have a new dual plane intake sitting here thats great for idle to 6500 RPM that I will swap in when I replace the carb.
Still need to get together with you about some other stuff that we talked about for my K5 also![]()

They are both good radios just make sure that when installed the swr's are with in spec or you will blow the finals in the radio. Most swr meters are cheap and will save you a radio.

Where's the update, mike?![]()
