NP208 strength? (Now 241 ugrade and rebuild)

Right now I have NO speedo so that's not a biggie lol.

I've been using a GPS speedo app on my phone

All I have is a speedo.. no cable or anything. That stuff could be found though

Is it the 241 or 208 that has two different styles of input gears? Something about the way they are cut that you can't swap between the early and later style.

I've been looking for a 241 to replace the 208 on my Nv4500 so I can do an easier SYE.

That would be the 241, but I don't remember the year split. :dunno:

I don't know all the details but I know it can be done. The transfer case guy built 2 for my buddy and they were both behind a nv4500
We grenaded the first one but it wasn't the 241s fault. We were flat towing his rig and it dropped into 4low at 60+ mph. The chain held..the case did not..

I got ahold of the guy. Says he still had it and I told him I want it. Sounds like we're meeting Tuesday. :waytogo:. So I guess that problem will be solved soon.... Screw the 208 lol

Bought the 241..... So I'm good now... Going to rebuild it first. And it probably won't go in till I have a th400 to go infront of it. Working on that next :)

Nope. Just hate having to shift in the middle of a mud hole. If I had rocks to play on I might rethink it. But not here unfortunately.... Plus I want my wife to be able to drive it after some seat and pedal mods..... She would still be too short to run the shifter then.

Well I will give you a pass on the short wife , but the shifting in the mud has never been an issue .

I had an old ramcharger and a k10 that both had this granny low trans, and both of them seemed to give me issues in it. A hotrod or streetqueen I'm a manual lover. But just never liked it wheeling

I thought you hated mud....why will you be shifting in the middle of mud holes?

Anyone have any links to the 241 mod from a dodge? I need to rid myself of the slip yoke badly. If I can do it for half the price of a JB unit that would be awesome.
