NP208 strength? (Now 241 ugrade and rebuild)

Can't train her on manual.... She won't even hear of it. Even if she COULD reach the gears with the shift handle lol.

208 has 3 gears on the planet and the 241 has 6 IIRC

I know a very good welder at work. And we have a nice tig unit he'll use. I can get it welded and strengthened for free. Not a huge crack. Kinda in a bad spot though.

If I had to guess id say his front shaft was too long and needed more room than it had at some point

If work is slow tonight I'm going to clean it and tear it apart. May have it welded this week yet.

you can always use it as a range box for a doubler if your not sure about the weld/front output.

won't know until you crack it open
I spun the input shaft a lot and ran it through all of the gear selections and it all seems to work good and smooth.

There is a little play when it's in 4x4 to the front output. If you were to put a line on the input shaft and turn it back and forth like you were checking backlash in a gearset, The line would move about a 1/4" total in free play.

The free play before it turns the rear output is a lot less. Less than an 1/8 at the input shaft.

Even if the case is bad the planetary gear assembly, bearing retainer & shift collar are worth $100+ to someone building a NWF Eco box.
