Wait, what?

Martin

Yeah, my 2012 Sierra had an air intake heater failure which caused it to latch on and remain on even after the truck was turned off and the key removed. With no air flow the plastic on the heater can get hot enough to burn. About an hour later my truck had a full on engine fire going and by the time the fire department arrived it had spread into the cab and the burnt to the ground. It was a total loss along with everything inside of it.

I had the exact same failure about a year ago but I was outside when the smoke started rolling out from under the hood and was able to put it out by disconnecting the batteries. Ripping the control wiring out didn't stop it, so the relay definitely latched on.

Yesterday was a total loss. Went to get the lift kit on and they did not have the U bold needed for the front and the rear he did not do because two of the twisted when the took them off. We were going to use three of the rear on the front. So now I need to buy new for the front.

This cluster pushed the axle fluid change to another day. To day I am walking like a three legged dog. My hip is in limp mode so in s little while I'll try to get the grill trim finished.

Oh did I mention we had a foot of snow Sunday night............

If your projects run like mine Lawrence you will be driving to the event with one hand on the wheel and a screwdriver in the other trying to finish up before deadline. Hope things get smoother for you:D

Just got off the phone with Mickey Thompson Rep. They are at Moab and have five of the tires there. I have to drive there Friday to get them and they will mount them there.

Three hour drive each way and what ever time it takes them. So the burb has a full tank of gas. Hope that makes it there and back. Will have to be very very careful not to chew the new tires up when turning.

No the lift will NOT be done by tomorrow morning they are shipping the bolts to me. From ORD that was $59 so I am now down to $140 in bank and A full tank of gas to drive to Moab to get the tires. I think if I make slow wide turns out of drive and any other turn from the road to another road I will be ok. (prays to the great spirit)

Leaving at 06:00 to drive to Moab. So much more to do and no physical help. Still have to get the roof rack on, tire carrier, snorkel, front combo kit with winch and get the interior back together. I will be trying to wrench as Eric is driving or I'm driving and he is wrenching........

33x12.50 R15lt 6ply The rep called and said the guys sold one of the tires so we will be getting 4 now and he guaranteed the fifth by May 1st.

So to bed I go in just a few.

Just got back am beat my hip is killing me. Here are the pics. Happy with the tires very little road noise.

I really liked my old baja claw radials. Smooth on the road and great off road

The Zero rates in the front and the lift in the back is gonna make that thing look just perfect. The old girl has some serious saggy ass syndrome. :waytogo:

I just came back in from trying to do the combo and couldn't get any where no strength and other issues. I Looked at trying to get the 1985 over flow bottle on and it looks like the battery tray is different.

I think I might be able to get it in a day or two when I have less pain and it is not raining. I did get the side quarter window lock tabs on. So I looked at any thing else I could do and I cleaned the dash and bezel.
