Well I took my fancy half doors off, the hood and the fenders. Took about 45 mins. and nothing was rusted to the point where things broke (like usual) so I was pretty stoked about that.
I'm gonna try to get all of the hvac junk out then pull the rest of the exhaust stuff that's under the truck. If that goes smoothly then the fuel tank is coming out, trailer hitch removed and the rear frame horns are gonna get cleaned up a little bit to clean up the P.O.'s hack job on them.
I know my neighbors probably hate me... this is the 4th vehicle in the past year or so that has looked like this in my driveway, we're all pretty cool though and I have the truck lined up perfectly to roll back into the garage so once I clean up a little bit I'll roll this turd back in there.

Got the hvac stuff pulled. The factory seam sealer was all over the firewall and is some really nasty stuff... I took my braided wire wheel on the angle grinder too it and the stuff turned into molten hot chunks and flew everywhere but I got it all off. Took my little palm sander with some 220 grit discs and cleaned things up a little, wiped down with acetone and rolled the first coat of primer.
Gonna go get something to drink and it should be ready for a second coat.

DIY 6" Shackle Sides (front shackles)
Gonna be pulling the front spring hangers off today and re-orienting them for the 52" springs up front. Probably go to the fastener store tomorrow and get some grade 8 stuff to hold everything together.

That's what I usually do, I did it to 3 of the rivets then said f**k it and just started mashing em with the chisel and sledge... they're all off now.
Gotta do the shackle hangers too but that can wait til tomorrow.

Knocked these fawkers off. Rivets came off with only a few blows of the sledge, kinda gave me a chub.
Gonna go to the local fastener store in the morning, was gonna go to Lowe's and look through their bins but they never have enough of what I need when I go and people like to steal stuff out of the little baggies that they come in so I end up short anyway...

Lowes by me used to have a decent selection - even had 25pc contractor packs... Kinda sucks now though.

Found out today when I placed my order with ORD that they don't powdercoat their shackle flips anymore... kinda sucks.
Found a local buyer for my 1/2 Ton axles through word of mouth, pulling $220 for them which is awesome cause I've always had trouble trying to get rid of 1/2 Ton axles in the past.

They have a decent selection here too, I was surprised at some of the stuff I was finding in their "Specialty" drawers but they never have the quantity I need... it's hit or miss if I find what I actually need too. I get a 10% discount when I shop there and they are like a 2 min. drive from my house so I'm in there often.
Hope Depot is like 8 mins. away but they are the same way, maybe worse.
Which fastener store are ya talking about? Hope it's not fastenal....usually $$$$

Clarksville Fastener down where Wilma Rudolph turns into College, they have EVERYTHING and they're very reasonable.
They make hydraulic hoses and some nice braided stainless brake line in there for super cheap too, I think the brake lines are $9 a foot, not sure if the fittings are included in that price... they look really nice.

If I had a torch I would use the hell out of it but I'm stuck with my cavemanish ways for now.
