One Piece at a Time: My 1985 Diesel Suburban

Grabbing every spare hour to get the little stuff knocked off the list.

Offset u-joint is out. One of the caps was starting to crack.

Ever since I pulled a couple of leaves from the front, I haven’t technically needed the special joint, and with two of them on the front, it created quite the shimmy above 10ish mph.

Because there was a conversation elsewhere about which Spicer joints are US made. I ordered this off Amazon.

Burp tank is burned and in. Maximum effort, and a ton of fun.

It’s 5x6x9.5, so roughly twice as large as the universal Dorman junk, and should have plenty of volume for expansion. It takes about a half gallon to register 1/3 up the sight tube, and that’s a decent place to start.

Excellent work as always David

Also heard from Dave Gambino on the road today. They are driving from Connecticut, and are super excited to see the Burb. Kudos
Thank you! Glad you connected with him. He’s a good add to our crew, and super excited about the trip.

Posted in the wrong spot! Moved it to the correct one. Didn't want to clog up your build with my rambling.

Great work on the puke tank though. Can't wait to see this thing and all the details you've built into it. Safe travels to you texas brothers.
