I love tig welds, really wish I could get one but don’t want to spend 3k!
If you just want to TIG steel they aren't that bad. The AC/DC TIG gets expensive, but worth it.

You certainly don't need to spend $3K to TIG weld. You can have a 200 AMP A/C D/C inverter TIG from Everlast for $1079 https://www.everlastgenerators.com/catalog-tig, Watch TIG welding tutorials, or Cameron Johnson Race Cars on Youtube, there's a lot of people using the green welders now. I love mine.I love tig welds, really wish I could get one but don’t want to spend 3k!
Totally right. Skipping the AC when starting out is actually pretty smart. If you just want to TIG steel they aren't that bad.
Beat me to it. Everlast is the best value going, and their HF module (and probably other board level bits) is identical to the one in my Miller. The folks that are using versions after 2023 have commented that arc starts are every bit as crisp as a Synchrowave. You can have a 200 AMP A/C D/C inverter TIG from Everlast for $1079
If you really want to learn to TIG, this is a pretty good time to get into it. Lots of products with good capability and great value. Get an analog DC machine, study, and start practicing. You don't have to spend a mint, but you do need to invest a good bit of time dialing in your technique. Clearly, I think it's worth it and I think you might, too.I love tig welds, really wish I could get one but don’t want to spend 3k!

I hope I never have to fall to a pipe welder lol not that there is anything wrong with it.Be a man, get a stick welder and scratch start tig setup. Then you can have a fallback as a pipe welder![]()
That could be more pieces than the Lego Deathstar.Done. Ready for blast, primer, and paint.
