Overkillz Dune Truggy Build

Also I jumped up on the frame and jumped up and down after the engine trans was installed and I was greatly impressed at how soft it felt. I think it should really soak up some bumps pretty darn good. Im WAY EXCITED to get this in the sand lol :D

I thought the dunes closed on labor day? :dunno:

Halloween.

Labor day is the last weekend vouchers are required for the weekends.
I just wont be bringing the blazer anymore because my insurance ended after last weekend on it.

Why do you let your insurance lapse in September anyway? Seems a bit premature! I drive my car into november. As long as its away before the first snow/salt. What do you drive it 4 months a year or something?

Hahah no i just took it off cuz i cant afford another $100 a month. Deuling's pretty much broke

You know that 350 is going to run out of air at 5000 or so right? I thought sand engines needed to turn 8000+ to have any fun.

Hey Adam just looking through this and your seats still look to high to me. Looks like your going to hit your head on the cage pretty easy to me. Bad ju ju at the dunes

Looks like its coming along man good stuff.

Plenty of space. It will all be covered in foam anyway in the cab and the harnesses should hold us down pretty snug.

I have fun in the blazer at 3500-4000. Yah itd be alot more fun way higher. But much more spensive lol.

With good heads they will all turn that............for awhile.

You won't need a solid roller. You can get a mech too turn every bit of that. 185 is a bit small but I have 170cc heads making power to 7000.

Just go with a lq4 6.0L for the price I think it would be worth it. Then you can just go through it with arp studs etc. and twin turbo it :D Those lsx motors handle boost pretty well in stock form.

Got the motor all assembled. Just need exhaust.

Got a holley 650 from a guy for free. Took it apart and cleaned the cobwebs out of it from sittin in a basement for decades lol.

Scammed alot of the stuff off of a parts truck in the backyard.

Dizzy from a junk yard, as well as a 70" driveshaft that we need to take 3" off of. Hopefully we can just grind the weld off the yoke, cut to length and reinsert and weld the yoke on.

Got all the accesories on, brackets etc, ran fuel line all the way back and put a 40 gph inline pump on it from the bII. Gonna have to run a pressure regulator on it. Bolted it to the frame with some strap and a piece of radiator hose cut in half behind it.

Ran some new brake lines for the really bad ones.

Did fire it up for a few seconds and all seemed well.

Good progress I would say. Not many pics though as its all pretty boring stuff to look at anyways
