You can't burn out contamination. I used to have x rays to prove it.

True but this isnt a pipe or a skyscraper. the tube is gonna barber pole or bend or the u joints are gonna snap before his "contaminated" weld fails
But I agree that is a good practice to have. A clean surface makes a happy weld.
Man, i hope it doesnt happen and if it does i hope no one gets hurt. I love the enthusiasm tho, getr done! You can't burn out contamination. I used to have x rays to prove it.
Not true. The entire torque from that motor is on that weld. I wasnt trying to be critical but if the weld comes apart while the truck is under power...Man, i hope it doesnt happen and if it does i hope no one gets hurt. I love the enthusiasm tho, getr done!
I always prep my stuff really well.
Apparently not, you didn't there. It would of taken 1 minute to grind the tube clean, not where you take shortcuts. Now, it's the back yoke, so if it did break it's not going to launch the vehicle, but still a bad idea.
Being in a hurry is no excuse to bypass safety, no matter how minor it is, that's when it'll get ya.
