Overkillz Dune Truggy Build

Prep looks non existant. :dunno:

Yah I know. It still burned through pretty good on the tube and the yoke was all ground down so it will hold fine. Shoulda ground it down but we were in a hurry to go wheelin. Real muddy out here, been raining for 2 daya straight. Was a blast :D

:shame: no bueno. I love your enthusiasm tho:waytogo: :pimp:

We finally got some. More rain this weekend, then what we had since April 30 all added together:waytogo:

You can't burn out contamination. I used to have x rays to prove it.

right, and Adam, if your promoting the Overkill name, you want it right before you get a bad rep....just sayin'

True but this isnt a pipe or a skyscraper. the tube is gonna barber pole or bend or the u joints are gonna snap before his "contaminated" weld fails :waytogo:

But I agree that is a good practice to have. A clean surface makes a happy weld.

Not true. The entire torque from that motor is on that weld. I wasnt trying to be critical but if the weld comes apart while the truck is under power... :eek1: Man, i hope it doesnt happen and if it does i hope no one gets hurt. I love the enthusiasm tho, getr done!

My buddy broke his front ds on his scout. The tube ripped and tore. It was covered in mud, paint and who knows what else.

We took it off. Welded it with a ready welder with flux wire with no prep, mud and everything and he continued to wheel on it. an hour or so later the front u joint broke.

He still carrys it as a spare.

I agree it should be prepped. But i would bet everything i own that the weld on that shaft will not break before the other components of it do first.

(talking about the one Dueling made)

Guys chill out lol. I always prep my stuff really well.

I said WE WERE IN A RUSH TO GO WHEELING... so we quick slapt it together and left (no not in the truggy). Yes not the best but oh well, if it snaps it snaps, there will be a floor.

Apparently not, you didn't there. It would of taken 1 minute to grind the tube clean, not where you take shortcuts. Now, it's the back yoke, so if it did break it's not going to launch the vehicle, but still a bad idea.

Being in a hurry is no excuse to bypass safety, no matter how minor it is, that's when it'll get ya.

Yup!! I know Adam has an abundance of flap discs. Should only take 30 seconds to clean up. 30 seconds will not make you any later than you already are.

You should check out airbagit.com

They have this sweet long travel kit for a 67-87 2wd front end. Would prob work great in the sand
