Overkillz Dune Truggy Build

This has a carb on it... Sounds like a few of you are thinkin tbi.... Tbi motor, drilled out carb intake.

That mallory regulator will still work with a carb, just turn it down more, and make sure your return line is as least the same size as your supply line. My brother used the same regulator with a 3/8 supply and 5/16 return and it wasn't enough return, he could only turn the pressure down to 8 or 9 psi and it was causing issues. With the 3/8" return then he could turn the pressure all the way down.

Or get a different pump, if the engine has provisions I would use a mechanical and be done.

Different pump it will be. Itd be cool if it can be run with a mechanical. I was just sure I read somewhere that tbi motors didnt have the extra cam lobe.

Early tbi motors have it, late ones don't. Generally speaking. Lots of variations. Google something like, tbi cam fuel pump lobe or something. Lots of mention about it.

Its from a 91 IFS rig. :dunno:

mmm...chocolate milk.

Did Craig get his heads yet?

Lol, it was like what 4 months of waiting from summit. They just kept saying dart has them on back order every time he called. He got pissed 2 weeks and canceled and called Jegs cuz I told him about Glenns.

Got em 2 days later :haha::haha:

Prolly this weekends activities.

Haha I bet Jegs had them on the shelf. It was the same thing with my heads. Summit didn't have them in stock but Jegs did.

My 350 is a '91 and it doesn't have a provision for a mechanical pump. I can't remember if the factory cam had a pump lobe or not but its not like it matters if you can't even bolt up a pump :screwy:

Its got the little block off plate on it.... I just wasnt sure if it would work though...

If it has the plate you shoul be good to go

Ok, ill take a look... My blazer ran ok without a return until the headers got it hot. This line shouldnt ever get hot how its ran so maybe it will work without :dunno:

The 305 with manifolds and no return ran fine...

From what im reading they just used up the old leftover blocks but didnt put the extra lobed cams in to run the pumps.... Not worth a cam change.

Had 90 tbi 350 in my old blazer, it had the plate and the lobe on z cam.

Also, ive seen some with out the plate and drilled partway. Ive only seen a couple of them though.

Hmmm my as well subscribe to this thread seems how I am part owner of dis truggy:D
