Pics of my Dana 60 14BFF Install

If your changing t/c are you going with the same length as your 241, to still use the new driveshafts?

How are those steps mounted on the burban? Can you take a photo of that and either post it or PM it to me?

Thanks

Nice job on the mods. Damn your burb is clean. Did you do the steering box bolt on support yet? If not you should consider getting it, keep that frame from cracking. I assume your not going to wheel it other then light trail stuff correct? I hate to see clean rigs get beat on. I hope you keep it a driver and only light trail duty. I personally like the 37's tire size for a driver thats gonna see light trail duty. If it's street only, other then rolling the dirt from time to time 35's are good enough. Why waste the money on bigger off road tires if your not gonna really use them. Keep up the progress, looks great man!

It will not get alot of offroad use....but when it does...it will be all day long on the weekends on some fairly difficult trails. Im not putting 1 tons and lockers for all freeway!:D 37" is the minimum here. I am bouncing back and forth between 37's and 39's.

Well, I decided to go with the 37" MT baja claws with 16X10 classic lock's. I REALLY like the tires. Sidewalls are thick as H e l l!:D

Here is the transfer case SYE installed. I got the case back in tonight. JB is overnighting me the pinion nut for my flange on the back that was missing in my kit. I rebuilt the whole case and put a new chain in while I had it out.

Here are the Tom Woods shafts. The front fit like a glove. They missed the back by a mile. It is about 4" too freakin long. I dont know what happened on it. I rechecked all my measurements and they are dead on. They just missed it. I am calling them tomorrow....but I will have a local shop shorten it tomorrow. I am taking a test drive this weekend come hell or high water!:D

Ah man! I hope you dont take offense when i say i think most of us pretty much hate you! Of coarse you know its just the jealous kind of rage... NICE truck and shop man. Job well done!

Ok...here is the rear shaft! Excuse me while I rub one off. I had my local hookup...Clinards Driveshafts in Nashville shorten the length where Woods missed the mark. Now they are on the MONEY!! I need to do some paint touch up and shoot the 1350 CV with black. The driveline turned out awewsome....all the measuring and measuring and remeasuring paid off. Everything appears to be perfect.

Looks awesome. Just double checking, when installing a CV shaft like that, you are supposed to point the pinion directly at the Xfer case at ride height, correct?

According to Woods, with a CV, it needs to be up or down (preferably down) 1 to 2 degrees. I am 1 degree down. Supposedly if it is dead level, the bearings will not move at all....and not lubricate and wear flatspots or some such nonsense. I find all of that a little far fetched but I did it anyway. I have had them dead level in the past and never had any problems. I usually break it or upgrade before I wear it out.

yup... actually down just a couple degrees...

edit.... just too dinosauric slow..... :doah:

Got it. But definitely not angle matched to the transfer/shaft angle.

Not running it dead on makes sense, enough to get the joint to move, but not so much as to cause vibration.

Step install pics. I changed the hardware to stainless so I would not have any rusting issues. I am 6'2" 260#'s and they hardly give. They are actually more sturdy than most neft bars. I was so sceptical, I bout one set and installed them before I got the second set because I was afraid they would flex too much.
