Pics of my Dana 60 14BFF Install

Looks good, if you don’t mind where did you get the tools and how much did they cost? The shops in my area just rape the folks around here and smile about it.

I bought the tools through Randys Ring and pinion. I will get the prices later this evening when I get home. I have a commercial account through them so that helped a little bit.

I'm glad you made it through a Dana setup....I got totally burnt out when I tried it, I had to keep taking the diff in to work to press bearings....after the 3rd round, I said fook it, and had someone else do it.
I figured I would probably only do a couple, so for the 100 setup fee, I'm outta there.
the 14 bolt was much easier I thought.

so how is the power loc working ?

any pro's ?

any con's ?

how is it with push pull factory steering ?

That thing is freakin serious. At on point, I had one hub unlocked rolling down pavement and you could poke the accelerator and it would pull so hard on the locked hub side....that it would steer you into the ditch. I have never had ANYTHING other than a detroit or lock rite do that. It is totally unmanagable on pavement (obviously). If it does not get significantly easier in loose stuff, I am going to have to add hydro assist. I have had enough front lockers to know how this is gonna work out. Already looking back again at PSC's website.:D Thats ok. Rationalization for some more mods. It will have to be some easier than a detroit....which hopefully assist will work well. I will know next weekend. I am going back to the mountains and hit some fairly aggressive trails. Thanks again for hooking me up with it.

Go to www.ringpinion.com and punch these #'s in. I cant list my prices...wouldnt be fair to the other dealers.

yt p22 Carrier bearing puller I got the nicer one which will do dana 70, 80, and all the big gm's.

tlsd02 Badazz pinion depth tool.

yt yh-01 Yoke holding tool

I also bought the video...a ton of shims for the front and rear. Enuff to set up several sets of axles. I got all set up bearings for dana 60 and 14bff. The tools that I listed are the main ones and are the most expensive. I already have all sorts of digital calipers and dial indicators etc...that you would also have to buy if you didnt have them.

Well there is an update in my motor saga. I have cut a deal on another zz572. I am supposed to send a deposit Monday and it is supposed to be ready to ship Wednesday. If everything goes as planned, I will have it first of the following week. This is the second one....I had a deal cut on another one and it sold locally. I am not going to get too excited till I see it sitting in my shop....then I will start babbling like a nut.

I like you, but your crazy! If that truck gets a friggen 572 i think it will be safe to say you have the baddest burb on the board!

Ill take that as a compliment. I don't look at things the same way as most people thats for sure. Sometimes it works out for the best...sometimes it goes horribly wrong.....:D I spent all day at the dealer expo in Nashville today. All of the popular vendors for go fast and lift kit type stuff were there. They also had the future engine builders of america. That was really cool watching these young guys rolling through a small block build. Attached are a couple of pics.

I visited all of the vendors and I zeroed in on the ones that Im going to need to get stuff from. I talked to Be cool radiators....told the guy I had a 91 suburban on tons and a zz572 going in it and I needed a radiator capable of supporting it. He looked at me with that "have you taken your meds today?" look on his face. The best one was when I asked the guys at magnaflow if they could put me a true 3" dual kit with 3" converters together because I have to get my 91 4x4 burb with 572 tall deck to pass emissions. Then there was TCI trying to figure out what the heck would work behind it. They just couldnt process a 4x4 572 daily driver with overdrive that could still take a pounding and still go to wal mart for groceries. The only guy that gave me what I felt like was a real solution that I was excited about was B Cool. I got home and logged in to my dealer section on my supplier site and my cost was $1,645.00 for the radiator, dual fans, relays, surge tank and all the hardware. Thats not even polished! I need a cooling system mortgage.

You're like a one man stimulus plan my friend!! Good for you on many levels, most particularly supporting your local economy!

I would just go with a nice aluminum radiator and do the windstar fan set up. Crawling around in 100* my burb with a 454 and basically stock cooling set up except the fans runs at 210* with one fan on.

YOU DA MAN!!

Here are a couple pics getting it on the stand. I had to take my marine outdrive attachment off....then put the 572 on. The lights in my shop make the Chevy orange look like chit. The motors in my Stryker look like that and they will put your eyes out in natural sunlight. All these are cellphone pics so they suck. Im pumped....everything worked out like it was supposed to on the motor deal. It didnt get insured.....so I was scared to death fedex would stick a fork in it....but it was perfect. Not a scratch!!
