Good deal! As soon as my tranny parts arrive from TCI, the old motor, tranny and TC are coming out and the 4l80 is headed to the builder. As soon as it comes back, I am gonna put it all in!![]()

I thought you said the differential was your last automotive endeavor? Now your having the tranny built by someone else?
Just kidding. Your doing a great job, it;s going to be a fun ride when you get done. That engine kicks @$$ and the 4L80E is perfect for it.
Your front locker install taught me which tool to buy after I tried the same thing this past weekend (putting a detroit in my D60 for the conversion) and when I used new of the same shim stackup I only have .002" backlash. I know what tool to buy now so I can remove the new bearings without destroying them and fix the backlash. I'll be ordering it today.
Keep up the good work, I look forward to seeing it in action!
By the way are you going to be doing something to prevent spring wrap and wheel hop? I have a feeling you're going to need it.

I do have a plan for wheel hop if it is an issue.![]()
I've done tranny work and it all turned out good. I just dont want to invest the time right now to go through the learning curv of a 4l80e and the tools needed to build it correctly. I am trying to put my house back together from the flood right now as well. I do have a plan for wheel hop if it is an issue.![]()

. The mess I have made with fluid cocktails in my floor is gonna set a new record with this thing too.....I am still cleaning up where crap is still pouring out of everything. When I did mine I was going to have the same problem. I measured and what I ended up doing since I only have one jack is to lower my tire pressure way down. Then support the trans on the jack, and lower it down. Then I was able to air the tires back up and wheel the jack out with the trans on it.
