Pics of my Dana 60 14BFF Install

Holy Fock me running, this just keeps getting better. I'm glad your life is getting back in order, and hope the best for the wife and her condition. Enjoy it while you can.

That's not what I was talking about lol You said your wife shoots suppressed 9mm MG's. I was just asking how you were able to get them under the assumption you didn't have a Class 3 FFL.

I just love this thread! Thanks for sharing pics of the awesomeness.

You are the man!

It`s very cool that you build things so that you and your wife can be together, most guys would just ditch their wifes and go have fun without them, good for you!

:waytogo::popcorn:

If you ever need someone to tie your boat up at the dock or carry your ammo or wash your rhino, I'm sure you could find a couple of voluntiers..

Sorry to hear about your lady's diagnosis. My wife had a bad mammogram a few years back. Scary crap to go through for sure. Hopefully you get good news coming your!!

On the toys note: Watching an insurgent turn into a big ball of red dust from a .50 in the chest is pretty sweet.

Thanks Brother. I hope so. We just take it one day at a time. If I don't, i'll go insane.
+1 on the Insugent. ;)

Got the headers stabbed. I am going to have to trim the frame with the plasma a little on each side to give the engine some room to move. Then torque them and then pull them together with a winch to clear the shackle bolts. The 10.2" block really gets wider as it gets taller and that killed the shackle clearance. It also hurt on frame clearance...but all in all I am very happy with how it is slowly coming together. I don't see any major Snafu's....yet anyway.

I had the same issue with my 454 in my 81 Burb. Dented at the frame and hitting the shackle bolt. What kind of headers are those? I ran Headman ceramc coated. Coming together nicely otherwise!

Headman Ceramic Coated. So it still hit even with a standard deck height big block?

Yep. The passenger side more than the driver IIRC. I have the old ones I pulled out (bought a new set for the new project) I'll peek in the garage to see what side was worse.
Edit: it was the pass side...

I've got Hedmans (non-ceramic) on my '85 K30 with a BBC and it has a dent from the frame on the passenger side, too.

Collector end clears the shackle though.

Here is a picture of the new +4.5qt TCI Tranny pan. You would think for what they get for this thing that they would put thier name on it.

Here is the bizzare combination of extentions and adapters to get to the back 4 metric allen bolts that are back in behind the crossmember that supports the back of the tranny and the transfer case. The pan is oringed so I wanted to get the proper torque rating of 15ft/lbs on all of the bolts. I had to go from a 3/8" drive torque wrench to 1/4" drive with swivel to get back in there....then put a reverse adapter to go from 1/4" drive back to 3/8" since my 5mm metric allen head driver in that size is a 3/8" drive and I don't own a 1/4" torque wrench. It's this kind of crap that makes you have to come in and out from under the truck 1,000 times! :( I need an assistant!

Great info. I'm looking at getting some headers. I'll be sure to stay away from Headman Ceramic Coated. I thought they made good stuff.

No one said that they were not a good product, but when you have other aftermarket products on your rig that adjust a tolerance here and one there, they don't always mesh well together.

I think that they would work perfect with mine if I had a 454. My 572 is about and inch wider and the motor being taller along with the raised exhast ports have compounded the problem. Sagging motor mounts, different lift springs, etc., etc. are all going to figure into if they fit right or not. Mine should be an easy fix. I am just done for the day.

I don't know if you're running a body lift or not but you ever think about maybe getting new motor mounts fabbed to raise the engine up 1" and put spacers under the tranny/t-case mount to raise it an inch also? That should eliminate the headers rubbing the frame hopefully.
