Pics of topless first gen's w/ roll cages/bars

That most recent pic is horrible imho.

Most recently, my priorities have shifted from getting a cage to getting a motor cause it crapped out about 4 months ago. Hopefully the hospital will write-off my wifes bills and I will be able to get into a 383.

Again, thanks for all the pretty pics.

A few picks of my cage instal...

8 point, full gussetts, seats attached to the cage. Hard top still fits.

Ugly, that's what I'm talking about! Pic's, Pic's, Pic's. Thank's, I'm not so good with the mental image thing , so pic's help a lot.You build it yourself or start with a cage kit? Any flex problems?

I have tons of pics....

The main cage was built by a company called Rock Ware in Colorado Springs, CO. They did a great job, but I attached the seats and made the whole thing stronger/safer by putting in 3" gusetts and attaching the 4 point harnesses.

The cost for the main part of the cage is about $900.00 built and painted by rock ware. After I added the seats and gusetts I had it powder coated for $350.00... between time and expences, I bet there is more that $2K in the cage/safety.

Thank's yj, old hickey stuff is so cool! Anybody know of a link, or ? where we can find info on hickey stuff? I would really like to find a pair of those off road light mounts that hooked to the windshield frame. They would be perfect for my build. Hey, makovai, that k5 is awesome! Considering running 42's, What kind are those and exactly what size are they? Any tips?

well, they are irok bias 42x14x16.5. I went with the bias because they came in a 16.5 wheel and the radial did not. however they develope some nasty flat spot if the rig sits for more than 24 hours. If i could do over again i think i would look at the radial. They cost the same. after the flats go away, i really like them.

Thank's makovai, I know what you mean about the flat spots. Am running 39.5 super swamper tsl's from the 80's. Rock you right out of the seat! Anyone make a tire along this line in 16.5, 8 lugs? Or can you go w/15", 8 lugs? Is there such a thing? Really like the thought of 42's on my k5. Might have to go to 44's if can't get the right tire in the right size, that would be terrible! Oh, by the way, in the process of going from 1/2 ton axles to 1 ton axles! Any pointers? Later, k5 to stay alive!

Sweet!

A functional 'passenger friendly' family cage.

That's the one you decided to keep right? (good choice)

Those are the best looking seat swaps to pull from later model trucks IMO, they look good in those years and are comfy too. :D
