Piecing together a full vert! (This Blows)

You will dig up a lot of opinions with ^^^that post:grin:

If you can find a cheap 6.0 go for it:waytogo:

The axle was painted with herculiner, I took out the wire wheel, cleaned it down, prime & paint. For a long time I have been thinking of putting a 5.3 in here, but now I have been toying with the idea of a 6.0.

And the scope just keeps getting bigger and bigger. The harder you work, the further behind you get! :haha:

Funny how your mind wanders thru the build process. I sometimes need to put the blinders on and just plug away at my rust and metalworking issues or I get to excited about the future! But at least you know what u are building around. Some version that takes up the same space!

Haha when I started this build it was just going to be an easy restore to just about stock. Now its too the point where since I'm this far might as well upgrade that, and that, and that.......:haha:
In the end it's all fun. Plus with the great resource of this forum the mind wanders a little more :burnout:

Hey Greg, I think he just earned his cookies.........

So this followed me home this weekend

Your next phone call should be to Pacific Fabrication / Tilden Motorsports in Morgan Hill CA.

They do LS swaps into '67-72 era trucks ALL THE TIME.... so they've got the engine crossmembers, motor mounts and wiring harnesses dialed-in perfectly.

Do they do harness rework/ecm work? My Truck is 73-75 body style, I have the TNA crossmember, I just need to order some LS motor mounts.

They do all that stuff....

They can pull out all the unused wiring in the harness based on what you intend to do, they do the programming, etc.

Call and ask for Jason, and tell him I sent ya!!! Not sure if he'll charge you less or more $$$ based on that referral!!! LOL

HA! Ill do that! Thank you for the info!

Got the engine tore down, cleaned up, painted, and replaced gasket/seals. Found a crack in my oil pan, didn't want to take a chance and got a different one off craigslist. I was all out of orange so went with silver. I kinda like the contrast. I replaced the rear cover since it was out, hear a lot of complaints about them leaking. Got an updated cover, the only difference I could see was the bolt heads were larger. Probably to hold more area.
Picked up a NP241 from a 1991 K5, one more piece to the puzzle.
Also my Dad happened to be coming out this way to pick up a Bobcat so he dropped of my parts firewall. Not sure when Im going to get to that but it is nice to have here.
Next step is go over the transmission and then the transfer case. I think I'm going to get a SYE for it.

Inspiration!!! You know that you have to make is as clean as Larry`s work!

Just read through your build. Very cool, love the full removable top. Wish mine was. Your only about 1/2 hour away from me. I live near New Glarus. If your still getting use to this area or looking for parts and such get a hold of me. I've lived in this area all my life. When you get your rig done we'll have to hook up and go wheeling. I'm part of a local 4 wheel drive club we try to get out for rides locally when we can.

Nice to meet you! You are close, a lot of good beer comes out of there :D Help finding parts is always appreciated. We will defiantly have to go wheeling once mine is moving on its own :burnout:

I come through that area several times annually (typically on 151). Would love to pull off the road and meet both of ya sometime. :)

And you guys are within a short drive of @streetrodchev and several other CK5 members in the SE corner of the state.
