A little more about the wiring. For folks with TBI trucks. 87-90 Uses the 7747 ECM. Except, th400 trucks use a 8747, and the 91's with the 4L80E use the 7060. There are some variations but thats the jist of it. Anyway, As intimidating as it is at first, its a relativly simple matter once you just take it piece by piece. All you have to do is pull the ECM out, and start determining what wires need saved and what can be eliminated. A service manual with chassis wiring info is really helpfull as well. This, for example, is the 7747 ECM pinouts. You can go down the list and see things like the check engine light, VSS wires, etc. that will need to be maintained in the vehicle. THe rest is just a matter of going down the list and clipping the wires out of the system until you have them down to just the wires that need to be left behind for later splicing with the new wiring.
