Pinsco63's 6.0 swap into a 91 suburban! 8-3 successful test fire!

LOL its not THAT bad... Its a one piece at a time thing. You cant eat a cake all at once. But you can eat it one piece at a time.

Scott making a bit of progress.

Pulled the intake to start getting the wiring all dialed in.

Getting the wiring all dialed in.

The down pipes came in the mail today.

And his radiator heater hose nipple is threaded! Never seen that before. And he didnt do it. It came like that.

Thats cool.
I took my radiator to the radiator shop and had them take off the heater hose nipple and weld in a threaded bong for a 1/4" hose fitting for the steam hose.

Well in a long overdue update, the truck is officially on the road and running very good. It now has the power you wish a suburban had! I drove it a bit and it is certainly quite peppy and noticeably more potent than my 5.3. I think the bottom line is a 5.3 works, and a 6.0 does the same work a lot easier.

In a blazer it would be wild. Its hard to describe the power. I mean, it's not a race car, but it has all the power you want. In other words, I'm trying to not up sell it too much, but you are sure to be satisfied and smiling.

Nice work. What did you guys do with the compressor? Didn't notice any pictures of that side of the motor.

It's on the garage floor. The factory vortec one won't fit down low in the frame, and there isn't a bracket for the factory tbi one. What he is going to do bis get one of the DirtydDing, sanden style ac ccompressor mounts.

You have much to learn about the ways of the LS. They use a separate small belt to run the ac.

That's the truth. I've been reading build threads for about 6 months and still there is much to learn.

Will do. He is still at the point where there is a few things to wrap up. Also it has a hellatious lifter tick! At least thats what we hope it is. Otherwise it has piston slap. Goes away when warm.

Hope its not a bad cam. I thought that my 07 express van had a bad lift. It ended up being a bad cam. The hardening comes off the lobe and it goes flat Found out the GM has had some issues with this.

It did at first, but in the end it was there always. Also it started to fell the loss of power under a load. Its a 4.8L, the dealer replaced the cam and lifters and its running fine still, some 50k later.
