PLAN B

This build was 2 parts 1 i have a truck I made to pretty to wheel so I'm building an ugly one I can actually enjoy. And 2. My cousin has been trying to join us for blazer bash but his truck wont be ready so we are surprising him with this one
I'm camping with my family so my friend/mechanic installed that master today and in his words. "Even without bleeding the lines the difference between the 34mm and 40mm master is significant" "the brakes are much better"
I'm interested to go try it. I'm curious if an even smaller bore would be better like closer to the 28/31mm these had stock.

That is good news and hopefully it is the cure.

I know that going too small on the master cylinder bore can make the pedal travel too far before proper engagement of the brakes.
My old man brain would caution against getting too greedy too quickly, even though I think about sh!t a ton as well.

I've personally D60 swapped a couple (maybe quite a few) trucks. A couple with direct relevance:
1: with the 30mm diesel master (stock on my '82 K5) with hydroboost and it worked well. It may still have that 30mm master on it now, I know we changed it once but don't remember if we went to a K30 (1 5/16 bore) master or not.
2: my '88 1/2T gas engine 'burb with the stock 1 1/8" master. It worked well, lots of stopping power but pedal throw was long. All drivable, but long throw. It was noticeable difference in pedal feel getting in a factory K30 truck with hydroboost and a 1 5/16" master. The factory K30 system used a lot less throw and not a lot more foot pressure to do the same work. Less throw because of the bigger master and the hydroboost's increased assist power kept the pedal pressure requirement manageable.

I would think your 34mm bore would be too much still but I'm sure it's a massive improvement over a 40mm bore.
