well slowly I been gaining ground closer to being done.
then today I pulled the sender unit to check the gas tank before I installed it in the toolbox . sure as sh!t rust trail up the inside from the bottom . pin hole ready to pop and leak .
oh well. I go and grab the extra tank I had on hand . but S.O.A.B if I didn't have a bigger same exact problem . so now I have 5 gas tanks with rusted out bottoms waiting to go to the scrapper . 2 you see and 3 under the bed holding it off the ground.
so I ordered a new one for the am at the local store.
but I have made a few improvments to the flatbed for the toolbox mounting . I made 2 side rails for the box to sit on just as if it was in a reg truck box . then it will be bolted down to these to secure it .
I made the arm's pass threw and weld to the head rack beam uprights . welded to the 1/8" plate face also . then the section on the flatbed deck is bolted down so when I re sheet the bed next year I don't need to cut it off just to re skin the deck .
these 2 support rails also are set 2" off the bed so if I need be I can slide a item up to 5ft6" wide all the way up to the front under the box .
you can see the cut out hole for the fuel lines to pass down to the hard lines on the frame . will post pic later of the toolbox pass threw hole I did .
