PLOW MACHINE / sleeping quietly : 237 6 shifter levers !

been getting some fab work and clean up done on the rear end of the frame rails.

got the shackle hangers off to get cleaned behind them / and make the new custom built/building it my self reese style 2" hitch fit .

the middle mount for the 2" hitch will bolt in the frame rails but has slide up the rails inside . and the rivits were in the way of this task .

all the rivits I removed will be replaced with 7/16" bolts as the hole is just to big for 3/8" but cleans up nice to 7/16" .

the hitch will also bolt on the the back of the diy4x gooseneck hitch also .

then I got a chunk of 3"x4" 1/4" angle I had and started to fab up the rear bumper brackets to the frame rails . now I just need to track down another chunk for the other side as my chunk I had wasn't the right length to cut in half and stick out correctly for the bumper to fit .

should be able to get some pics next day or so . as what I am doing now is just on/off/test fit/rework stuff .

ehhh :dunno: little over kill I guess :doah:

center pull bar/tube what even I pick will start at the 2 center bolts on kirts diy4x hitch .

then to the 2.5x2.5 1/4 wall tube new extra crossmember that's bolted in .

next will be the new beefy replacement for stamped tin crossmember 3x3 1/4 angle . drilled / bolted in same 4 holes per side as original .

then the 3x4 1/4 angle for new bumper brackets with just a few bolts per side

and last the custom C-channel bumper and bolt under hitch tube unit .

bumper main body is 8inch C-channel 1/4 thick. then up 2inch each end and over 16inch for pie cut out and fold the ends up to it . next cap the sides . then relief cut for the box sides . next is the bottom 4inch C-channel with a 2inch hitch in the middle and bolt it up to the bottom of the bumper . this is my version of a old school 70's bumper and hitch like they use to make . bumper will be cut open for the bumper brackets to pass threw for flush weld and back side weld both .

UPDATE : got bumper hight narrowed down to should be in the 38" tall at the top lip range . and center of hitch tube 27" tall .

got the rails stripped today up to the rear cab mount cross member . had to remove I all to get the upper half of the spring hanger cross member out the back . first in / last out kind of thing .

removing lots off stuff that's common rust point on these trucks here in the rust belt . this is to let me get in there and clean and paint them up good . to help slow the nasty red death :angry1:

amazing even 1ton frame flex like this . but when I bolted in just kirts (DIY4X) gooseneck it took out so much . and I fabbed up those two other braces and that made it about rock solid .

oh ya forgot I scored a like new windshield today off c-list local to me .

$75.00 and less 2hr total of my time and 65 miles round trip .

this sucker has the DARK tint bar on the top also

so been busy with stuff. but got more parts to slap this together soon I hope .

used :

sway bar disc set from ord
sway bar original unit
sway bar bushing clamps original units
np203 range box
np205 with upgrades and twin stick ready to go

new :

ord doubler kit with triple stick
full truck suspension greasable bushing spring/shakle kit ord
2 bling bling pto covers diy4x
pair stock length diy4x rear usdr shackles

need to dig out the 4l80-e and get it to the trans shop for tail shaft swap out from fixed 2x4 to short oem 4x4 shaft .

then tear apart the old plow truck for the parts I require to swap over to this truck .

some times I do .

its being built as a work horse .

when I sell off my extra t-case adaptors and round pattern 205 I will have made money to buy the doubler kit / modify drive shafts / and have extra .

so that's the reason for the doubler . use up parts I got sitting around and make money on the rest .

I gotcha. I give more parts away than I bother to sell. A lot of times people end up giving me money for parts I give away though.

drilled & tapped the 203 face today for the new adaptor of the 4l80-e to 241 . you get 5 out of 6 holes perfect . 1 hangs over the edge and be a pita to do .

chris @ ord said lots of them done with 5 and still fine .

just waiting on a seal sat am delivery @ local napa for the 205 to ord plate .

then paint the 203 and 205 up and finish assemble them .
