PLOW MACHINE / sleeping quietly : 237 6 shifter levers !

got my steering hooked up today stock push/pull . have to take measurements and confirm with the ord guys to the angles of the drag link . I think drop pitman or dodge arm on the 60 .

:woot::woot:

my us shift quick 4 controller kit showed up today .

this controls my 4l80-e and gives TONS of options way above factory level and some other aftermarket units for a better price point .

pics later tonight .

pics as i said i would .

this thing is tiny but has tons of options. quality wiring and good paper work .

oh ya lots of stickers

Pretty interested in this thing. I hope your build doesn't stall like the 2 wheel peel...

Expect a full report back on this trans controller

@beags86 yes its stalled but will be done next . . . have to have working plow truck before winter . the current one got rolled in to the shop today off tow truck after it died in my yard . she is getting real bad this is her replacement . . . and the old one knows it and is PISSED OFF at me ! giving me lots of problems all of a sudden .

well today was fun . i got the brake pedal assembly up in the dash . gas pedal unit on firewall . old p/s pump from the member that gave me the AGR box had left on it . wasnt a hydro boost pump and the pulley center was frozen on it. i have a van hydroboost setup with the remote mount resivor it will fit on the serp belt stuff just fine. for now i made a hose loop to keep the box free of junk and puking its oil out.

then i transferred the cardboard pattern of the new shifter mounts to metal and got it cut out and holes drilled and bolted up . now to build out the sides and hook up the pivot bolt threaded bushings to mount the shifters .

its going to be tight but the 5 shifter levers and lokar trans shifter will all fit in the area . its going to be a thing of beauty when done . i hope monday i can finish the shifter lever mount setup .

got my HD tie rod kit ordered from ruffstuff specialtys with the weekend sale going on . had to do this since the axle before was set for highsteer . but now with push/pull steering i needed it back down regular setup . the plow frame and sway bar also dont like the crossover / highsteer .

I know no pics today . . .

I got the truck back in the middle of the shop to make work easy . . . .

I had been toying with the idea of a 1" body lift to help give a little extra clearance on the doubler/4L80-e combo . it did clear before tho . just figured I might be able to tilt it up a bit more for better flat frame under side . also the 1" body lift would help other area's .

but once I set the pucks in on just the cab and stood back and rested my arm's on the front fenders I didn't like it . I know 1" shouldn't make that big a difference but to me for my mental picture of it being done it does. makes it looks to much like a lifted big tire truck with the extra fender gap height .

waiting for my air cleaner to show up and check fitment . this will tell me for sure if I have to live with it or I can pull it out .

i like them on the correct stock type stuff my self .

mine is just mix match of what i think is cool .

and there only 2hr north of me for the home of the BBC

Alot of idiots think there is something special about them.... I let them buy into the urban legend of the High performance " Tonawanda"

LOL

in the shop right now eating lunch . took a brake and mowed the lawn between the almost daily rain storms . . . .

shifter bracket is tack welded up and out . ready to punch a 7/8" hole per side to let the shifter pivot bolt mount from the old bracket pass threw . i went over to my local machinest buddy this morning and we turned them down from 1" to 7/8" just for half the body length . gives me a good positive stop and i only needed them to go in 1/2 the length of the body . and my step bit only goes to 7/8" :p

EDIT : now its storming like crazy outside . . .

well the final product is in and just needs a bit of tweeking and it will be done .

but what we have is a ord twin stick for a gm 203 on the left side . now it will be a pto and winch in/out lever combo .
then we have a traditional ord triple stick setup on the right for the 203/205 combo .
and rounding this all out in the middle is a lokar shifter . i have to mount the bell crank pivot point yet and redo the linkage lengths .
also i have to trim down the new main bracket and finish weld it .

but here ya go

How slow are you planning on plowing with this thing? You better put tracks and a lot of weight so you can push all the snow you will have gearing for. It will be just like a dozer in super low gear except you will just sit there spinning all four tires.

the doubler is cause I had the parts laying around to build one . and the ord kit I scored cheep new from a guys project parted out but new in the box . I sold the adaptors from these 2 cases to make up the doubler kit price . so it was almost free.

axle gearing is to make it work good with the 35" tires and I have overdrive so it makes up for it good . 70mph 4.10/31" stock tires was 3100rpm . now with 4l80/5.13/35" tires its 2500 rpm . so I get better low end and less top end .

its not just a plow truck . its a daily driver / work / trailer pulling truck .

its all got a reason to be in there be it real need or just cause I can do it . . . . :whistle2::whistle2:
