Project '08 'Vette orange.

shouldn't have warped any, because f the way i welded it... tack, let cool... etc. etc. it should stick out just a bit, just like stock, or that's what I'm hoping for anyway.

Excuse my noobness, how are you going to merge the new fender into the bed? Just weld it together, then use body filler to create the illusion that it's one piece?

looking good. now does it stick out off the side a little or is it just my imagination? (like a fender flare)
That's how they all look before the rust sets in and they rot away...:D

oh ok. just thought it'd be pretty cool if it stuck out a lil more than normal. not like a Bushwhacker flare but slightly more than stock

im going to have to trim the box sides out some, but not much, then butt weld the new opening pieceto the box.

UPDATE!!! Oct. 10

well, finally got to work on it some again, what do you think?

Looks real good :thumb:

I remember doing that kind of body work on my 90 K5 after stuffing 36" TSL's on it with 4" of lift. Nobody knew I had cut the fenders, the entire rig was painted gloss black and I used to wax it on weekends. Now I don't even have fenders and my heater box has dents from trail abuse. :D

thanks guys, but i fuucked it up. you can tell one side is higher than the other.

after i finish my coffe, i get to go fix it!

I dont like to run full beads on sheetmetal. can you say warpage?

anyway, does this look any better? I taped the body line so you could tell and relate it to the opening.

you can see how much i moved it.

comparison to what it was previously.
